Live Blogging The Sprint Cup Series Race From Michigan (ESPN - 1PM ET)
Allen Bestwick begins ESPN's Sprint Cup Series coverage from MIS with the NASCAR Countdown pre-race show at 1PM. Rusty Wallace and Brad Daugherty join Bestwick for this one hour program. Race coverage begins at 2PM, with the green flag falling at 2:16PM.
There are a lot of potential topics on the menu for this program. Saturday's Nationwide Series race ended with a bang both on and off the track. Race winner Brad Keselowski will be in the Sunday Sprint Cup Series event. So will Kyle Busch and Brian Vickers, the pair who led most of the race only to lose it on the final laps.
MIS is known as a fuel mileage track, but today the new NASCAR restart rules may add a twist to the single-file fuel runs. Pit stops will also be critical, both under caution and green flag conditions.
It will be Jerry Punch calling the action for ESPN with Dale Jarrett and Andy Petree alongside. Jarrett and Petree handled the play-by-play for the Saturday Nationwide Series race as a part of ESPN's "Backseat Drivers" coverage. Punch struggles on big tracks like this where multiple storylines have to be juggled from the start.
This is the time of the year when tempers are tight in the Cup garage. The ESPN pit reporters are going to have to think before they speak to avoid the kind of moments that ESPN has recently experienced on pit road. Dave Burns, Jamie Little, Shannon Spake and Vince Welch are the reporters.
Three elements have pushed ESPN's NASCAR coverage in a strange direction. The ill-advised use of in-car cameras, the use of pre-recorded material under green and the strange belief that the playback of old team radio conversations is important.
In-car cameras remove the perspective of the TV viewer. They are awkward to use after restarts or when cars are racing in a group. Cutting to them because they are available seems to be the current practice. Higher and wider shots made TNT's summer coverage exciting. Frequent in-car camera shots are ruining ESPN's efforts.
Since ESPN's Sprint Cup coverage began, the network has been playing back "soundbites" from drivers who are seated in front of a video window. While the recorded material plays, the live race is shoved in the video box. Instantly, the excitement of the racing is gone while viewers listen to dated comments on various topics. Nothing sucks the intensity out of high-speed racing like this feature.
Many NASCAR fans use the technology available online to listen to their team's radio channel. TNT even offered a free audio feed during the summer races via RaceBuddy. ESPN records the radios and then stops the telecast to have a pit reporter introduce the audio clip about to be replayed. By the time all of this happens, the race has moved on. Either use it live or lose it.
Multiple storylines will continue at MIS. Teams racing for the win with nothing to lose, those racing to make The Chase and some trying to put on a good show simply to survive. Tires, fuel and strategy will be a key challenge for the TV team.
This post will serve to host your comments about the Sprint Cup Series telecast on ESPN. To add your TV-related opinion, just click on the comments button below. This is a family-friendly website, please keep that in mind.
Thanks for taking the time to stop by The Daly Planet on this weekend.

«Oldest ‹Older 201 – 400 of 586 Newer› Newest»If we're already tuned into the race, do we really need promos for Nascar racing? and miss action on track?
david in re: S&P battles: too bad we haven't heard one word from the booth about them.
anyone know what's up w/labonte's car?
Nascar should thank Robby G for giving them a caution in time to bunch the fiels back up.
Those NASCAR promos are sort of out of the network's hands. That's part of their deal with NASCAR.
Yeah guys, definitely a tire issue with Robby's car!
Nice triple split on this caution flag stop.
red
on twitter I saw from someone that he thought he dropped a cylinder.
ok, i need an explanation b/c the same thing happened yesterday. when we have yellow flag pit stops, why does espn start the coverage with a single car then switch to a multicar screen? why can't the multicar screen start at the beginning of the stop?
@red-MRN said engine problem. I'm betting ask.com bails next year..:(
I'm glad they showed those 3 pit stops through their entirety, instead of cutting to the line before they were done.
I remember a race, long ago, that they showed the control room and showed the director calling which camera to show. He would say, "Ready camera 3, GO!, ready camera 12, GO!"
It was pretty cool seeing how they do that.
I think BP was calling the race. Any of you remember that?
@ brad and pammmm: thanks for the info.
(hey espn gang? how come you didn't tell us that, huh? not enough resources in the garage area or what? looks like twitter has it's use after all.)
09 gonna run all day looks like. 87 trying to pass the 71
Rusty the last time I noticed the race, which was seconds ago, the race isn't over yet.
The regional sports network that I have, every once in awhile for their PBP events, they'll have "The Director's Chair" coverage....while you get the main play-by-play, a person can switch to the Spanish audio option, and hear the director. Pretty neat stuff.
@steve l: i remember that moment -- was that actually a race or was it a piece about broadcasting a race? that part, i can't remember.
red said...
not enough resources in the garage area or what?
Don't need anyone in the garage. All they have to do is listen to the Official's Channel. Every single car going to the garage, leaving the garage or dropping OUT w/reason can be heard from the garage to David Hoots.
MIS track president Roger Curtis just gave huge props to the MRN folk after they finished his interview with him during this caution.
Very cool.
Matt's son was saying that Matt's car was really loose.
Thats it , i am done, between TDP, nascar.com ,directv and all others , i am done muti tasking.
I did enjoy it a year ago, but I am just not able to do this any more. espn, guess what, you have just lost another viewer. I have taken the view of Stricklinfan82. and a few others. espn you have no clue and i am just fed up w/ the stuff u have been feeding me, and shoving down a place that JD will not let me mention on this blog
I am at a point in my life that i can say" have a nice day."
espn has made some positive changes, Dale J and Andy P,they are just great and enjoy listening to them. I am just tired of the same stuff different day. I mean that by dr P for pxp and AB for pxp. wake up, this has been a long conversation on this blog for a long time
Oh yes, I am still a fan of the #7 robby gordon and the #71 Dave Marcis. Yes, owner/operator start of NASCAR. (Mr. B. France take note)
They have done so much with so little and have accomplished more than some will ever will
As I type this the #7 caused the current caution, but still like his passion for racing as maybe some others in nascar should.
yes , jd i will still follow w/tdp just done w/espn.
WOW! saw a bumper cam on restart immediately and now another bunch of in car cams!!!
I think I have witness ESPN SHARK JUMP in a major way.
They really do not care what fans want.
Full Throttle crapola now in progress on ESPN...too many radios, as usual.
Have they never heard about how Fox does it? Sound of engines full, EVERYONE SHUTS UP!!!
Nearly 4 wide off turn two with JPM below yellow line per MRN but still going along
i just discovered that they actually close-caption full throttle. i think i want that job.
@red,
FordRacing tweets, "Bobby Labonte is done for the day. He says something in the valve train broke"
Showing some racing in the mid-pack! Hurrah!
The pit reporter talks about something and the camera is showing something else.
How about listening to all that mumbo-jumbo scanner talk on restarts, we pick one car and listen to what they are actually saying..
patrick
thanks for bobby update...that stinks. He started out with issues.
I also heard #36 & #66 are officially OUT, but other radio chatter covered up the reason.
#87 back to the garage, after passing the #71 in the standings will probably be parking for the day.
Red, it was during the actual race.
09 to the garage for a "wing adjustment"
lou, i feel your frustration and anger. i may give them next week but then i'm sticking with just TDP and radio. this is just more of the "same old, same old."
what's even more frustrating is that there are moments where we actually get to see 3 and 4 wide racing and guys cutting and chopping but then we're jerked away abruptly and we get a shot of the top 2 cars running together. it happens even as the booth is commenting on the racing that's happening so it feels as ifthe producer/director isn't even listening to the booth at all.
how many more will drop before homestead?
Sophia,
its official now. #96 OUT, engine. #71 OUT, Vibration.
The MRN station here CAN drive you crazy..it's a country station called WOLF and every break, I hear a wolf howling. It's like MRN version of Digger to me...but the guys are great!!
I NEVER listen to this station except for races..that wolf deal gets old ast. AACK, again. :)
Still THANKFUL for MRN in da house!
patrick: thanks for the info on labonte!
Patrick
merci beaucoup!
#87 OUT, Electrical
I surrender! White flag being waved here - I'm just gonna listen to MRN - I can not take anymore. I'll just be reading here. "Watching" tv kill a sport I love is just to much. Congrats espn -you have driven another fan away. Be proud
Does no one at ESPN realize that using bumper/in car cameras while someone is trying to pass completely defeats the purpose? Can't tell if they will make the pass of not until you go to the LONG SHOT!
see, there was an opportunity to really get into what "clutching the car" means and they let it fall flat b/c they needed to get to a commercial break.
sigh.
JP perked up a bit going into commercial.
Lou, thanks for stopping by. You can always take a break, this is just the Internet. Change comes to big networks like ESPN during the off-season.
It's a swarm of big egos and six figure contracts and those things just do not end or change week to week.
It will be interesting to see if fans get together and revolt or just lay down and take it during the Chase.
When the races move to ABC, there are a lot more eyeballs on them. That should be interesting.
JD
After all those different pit strategies and reshuffling afterwards a setting of the field would be nice about now but no we get dueling calculators. It was funny but how about after the reset. I'm just saying
JD, looking at the stands and the TV ratings, it seems to me that the fans are already making a statement. I'ts just that Nascar and the networks choose to believe it's all the fault of the economy, instead of people consciously deciding to stay away.
NRF - it looks like they read your comment.
Enough with the points as of now guys! Pullllllleeeasssseeeee!
psst. espn. listening? 'Up to Speed' every 40 laps. m'kay?
You know how these wide angles are used to transition from car to car during this 'Up to Speed'? More of that. You can do it. I have faith. not really.
#88 pitting.
Howdy! Listened to the Officials channel (113) on Sirius with the MRN broadcast. You get more information from Hoots about the race than the ESPN play by play :)
Looks like all I missed was in-car cameras.
Saw the comments about Shannon and Jamie - my question is there a new person in charge of the pit reporters this year?
#88 pitting early because of a VIBRATION. How do you NOT know that?
@salb: i completely agree. i'm not certain how many different ways fans can use to show our displeasure with the state of the sport right now. tv ratings are down, attendance is down, merch sales are down. is anyone listening/
If you're not in contention for the chase, you don't matter. They went from 10th place Montoya to 12th place Stewart during Up To Speed and skilled over Reutimann who's in 11th.
What was up with the delay back to the booth? JD & AP couldn't find the cattle prod fast enough?
Mike they talked about Reut
29 pits as they go to commercial
see if this gets any mention
And they wonder why this whole 'race to the chase' crap is so disturbing to real race fans? Talk about trivializing 2/3 of the season! Since there are only 2 drivers within 400 points of Stewart, I don't find the whole 'let's pretend that all 12 drivers deserve to be in contention for a title' very compelling.
i miss racebuddy.
sigh
time for a cold, tall glass of . . . water.
double sigh.
Sal, I have been battling that for months now. This is just when things are coming to a head.
The interest in this sport is plummeting and the NFL is going to put it in the basement.
No NASCAR leadership right now except for Helton running the races themselves. It's a shame..
#09 OUT Electrical
marcos on pit road 4 tire stop
@Sophia--Jump the shark? They are pole vaulting over that sucka with this performance. At least here at MIS the race will be official in a few laps.
did we hear about the 29 yet? was it just an early pit?
how to butcher pit stops 101. courtesy of ESPN.
Wow, I didn't know Joey was only 18! Jeesh!
I get so tired of that.
#83 leads his first lap since the drop of the green flag.
watching HP 29 channel - he went from 35 to 17 since break and pit and STILL no mention
Joey is 19...
Steve L. said...
Wow, I didn't know Joey was only 18!
I thought he was 19, now. He raced last year (2008) in May or June, when he would need to be the minimum 18.
@david: hahahahahhaha! i can't believe they've been saying "18" and he's actually 19! that is fantastic!!
"johnson's lead is over 5 seconds.." as the ticker shows it at .84, really JP?
kinda remains me of last week when he said first rainout at watkins glen in the "27 year history of nascar".
another good one from earlier today pit stops when we come back in about 8 laps. (implying it'd be an 8 lap commercial)
can't believe I'm saying this, but where's webber?
I am really tired of all this talk about points points points and who can climb up to the top 12 but that would mean several falling out but the broadcasters never mention those poor drivers who that might happen to. Just tired of it, call the race, show the cars and then we might be happy.
OK, is ti just me, or are there an inordinate amount of commercials during this broadcast...and very lengthy ones at that?
JP said Bowyer was 13th, 50-something points out, he is actually 100 points back.
got pitcommand up so its been an interesting day of bouncing between radios
wait for it. if Mark gets around Jimmie the call from JP will got something like this.
"The 50 year old Mark Martins goes to the lead at Michigan". wait for it.
#7 to the garage.
Harvick and Childress arguing on the radio. RC tells him to drive the (censored) car, that's what he gets paid to do.
Sorry guys, I meant to say 19, that's what I get trying to watch and type....
from ask.com - Official search engine of NASCAR
Joey Logano
was born May 24, 1990.
@patrick: wonder where harvick will be racing next year . . .
Dr.T
I was JUST ready to log off of here since I am TRYING to watch golf on mute, MRN on radio and race on mute-two tvs side by side) and comments like yours keep me here.
If I leave now, no live participation to share the love of MRN and detestment of BSPN.
And I am Tweeting about photography to a fellow pt about PS killing art of photography.
I would have NEVER gotten so off base during a race with TNT and the great booth chemistry and more importantly MIKE WELLS CAMERA DIRECTION.
but I am tired of beating that dead horse...I am feeding hay to it, to mix a metaphor from the late great Groucho Marx :)
Wow, the wheels are off this deal.
Did Petree just say, "they don't stop racing just because they're on pit road"?
Wouldn't that apply to the broadcast, too? That would make too much sense.
harvick not happy with childress - wants to start own team like smoke did
@red- Stewart-Haas
@patrick: bravo! GREAT catch of that comment. i found myself saying "so what's your excuse, guys?"
@red,
what @bevo said. It comes down to sponsorship$$$
@bevo: we should be so lucky to get happy on SHR!
red, reports are childress wont let harvick out of the contract which he has through next year. so the question is where will he be come 2011. thought they said they weren't taking KHI to cup because he did not want the headaches, but who knows anymore..
Red
I am wondering about Harvick, too...be interesting to know what's really going on with that team.
@Patrick
pray tell, how are you getting all this info? You at the track live? I so appreciate all your info (which also keeps me logged in here)
Between this BLOG and TWITTER, we stay informed.
As opposed to the rotten tv show that keeps us, well, can't use that word here. :)
They're fully in "Chase" mode right now. The storyline through Richmond is going to be about those guys in the vicinity of 12th in points.
No comment on Kyle B running worse than Junior? are the wheels coming off that team already?
welp, this is an exciting shot..NOT
ESPN is getting their money's worth out of AB today with lots of updates - too bad the booth can't do more.
david: i know childress is playing hardball w/harvick's contract. maybe it's the principle of the thing; maybe he's just being hardnosed. but happy's certainly not happy and i'd like to see him catch a break next year.
i suspect if SHR -- or anyone else --wants him, they're gonna have to give childress something.
like a right lung . . .
just tuned in to the race on tv - decided to run errands this morning figuring I could catch up via the dvr - but was listening in the car to MRN - omg - to my great surprise there really is a fascinating race going on in Michigan. All of you bloggers have been saying how bad the tv coverage is and how good MRN is and today I proved it to myself - am seeing how truly bad the ESPN camera work is. Keep up your efforts to make ESPN cover the race and all of the drivers.
Agreed Childress has made those comments but it wouldn't be the first time we were "mislead". I do think it will be Stewart-Hass. Remember Tony said the only way to start a 3rd team would be if he had driver and sponsor ready to go. He did not say he didn't have those two things in place.
I think Harvick has sponsorship lined up and they are just haggling with RC on the price for a buyout.
Noticing a pattern...lots of mistakes (unforced errors) in commentary, camera work and overall continuity of the "telecast". A more diligent producer and director would set a tone and create a climate where this kind of stuff would not happen. But they learned that they could easily make pretty pictures, and over-use the artsy-schmartzy stuff, rather than tell a story, with well chosen words and striking pictures, which is not as easy. You fans deserve much better than this.
Sophia,
how are you getting all this info?
TV
NASCAR.com Live Leaderboard
NASCAR.com RaceView (audio: #88 Junior)
NASCAR.com PitCommand (audio: Official's Channel)

However, my laptop's resources are capped and RaceView is only giving my the audio (no simulated visual)
Caution (free pass #77)
Jay, thanks for the comment. It is like night and day. This is just horrible.
more rain incoming, about 20 miles southwest, good chance of impact prior to checkered flag :(
Not to be discouraging, but ESPN is never going to listen to the fans who actually have to watch this train wreck they call a race broadcast. Just like Nascar won't listen to driver's or crew chief's about loosening up on the COT to maybe make it raceable. Believe me, we've been trying for several years now.
DrT: another great observation. unforced errors certainly are the hall mark of a sloppy production. if no on'e calling you on the mistakes, you may eventually figure it just doesn't matter any more.
Has there been any speeding penalties today? I haven't heard of any.
from dr punch: ". . . it will enable these cars -- and everyone -- to come on pit road . . ."
ummmm, who else might be coming down pit road besides the race cars, doc? tractors? jet dryers? camels?
anon@4;15: we should be so lucky as to be put out of our misery by a rain-shortened race.
where'd those water bottles come from Doc?
Sal
the wheels are off the bus of the 18 again. It's the same as it was last yeat except he didn't have as good of a first 10 races and limp into the chase and fall apart. This year he is struggling to make the cut but it is really no different than he ran last year. However if you listen to DW and JP you wouldn't know that.
patrick
WOW, king of multi-tasker. Thanks for sharing.
Dr. T
You used the word "telecast".
I think a series of "telegrams" could give a better flow to this race.
Meow Hiss
(but it's true!)
If I did not have MRN, I would be in such a hateful mood right now.
Mikey on lead from staying out! wow
@DrT- agree. The one thing you could always say even if you didn't like the tone of the coverage or style that ESPN had was that the technical aspects were sharp. This half hour I've been watching has been very sloppy.
Do you know who's leading right now?
Punch told you Tony was because he was the first off pit road. HOWEVER, #55 Waltrip stayed out and was the leader.
Yeah, RC says Shell is staying though so we'll see.
Reporting Sadler would go to the #07 now too which is just crazy.
Silly season for sure.
@red
ummmm, who else might be coming down pit road besides the race cars, doc? tractors? jet dryers? camels?
Almost spit out my White Zin on that comment. :)
MRN saying more 'weather' on the way. Why not just call it RAIN.
@sophia: sorry, my bad.
(but that's the mental image that sprung, unbidden, to my blood-refreshed brain!)
What's that black flag for Doc, AP, DJ anyone?
Did anyone see the black flag on that restart?
Somehow I just knew Ragan would end up in trouble...or causing it.
Did I just hear JP get excited when Busch went sliding?
Who got black flagged on that restart?
Who got the black flag on that restart? Did you guys see it?
Why do they insist on going to the on-board camera WHILE they are wrecking? Do that BS during one of the replays. We can't see what's happening.
#77 is being penalized from the previous caution for one lap. Not sure why. sorry.
@red- good one! Saw a camel race on a show one time. They use kids from India as jockeys. Big money in camel racing believe it or not.
@Sophia--I think Thunderbird would be the only vin ordinaire that would dull this pain, IMHO.
I thought I saw the black flag. What's going on?
on that replay from the #2 in-car, i'm not convinced busch actually made contact with the 6. took all the air off, yep. contact? not so sure.
guess the black flag was a figment of our collective imagination.
Geeze chase chase chase....that's about the only thing JP is getting excited about.
Black flag was for the #77. Hoots was saying that he owed him a lap when they were taking the green, but I missed why.
Producing/directing 101 For Dummies - when cars are crashing show cars crashing... not the view out the windshield.
I'm with you, Red. Sure couldn't tell for sure that contact was actually made.
I keep rewinding and can't see any contact. I think they're wrong on that one folks.
The black flag must not have affected a Chase contending driver. Therefore, it must not have happened.
Illegal fueling for 77, that's yr black flag.
think hornish passed the field for his free pass too early
Anything not affecting any of the top 16 drivers isn't worth commenting on. Or showing on TV. Right. got it.
#77 was black flagged for taking fuel twice?
(let's try this again!)
@bevo: our nephew is working in qatar, where camel racing is a very serious sport!
(there: brain and fingers finally in synch.)
@Dr.T
LMAO @ Thunderbird comment.
Indeed! :-)
See. this blog helps us keep a sense of humor about this mess. Then again, as I said CUP MRN race access helps my mood immensely.
Years ago we had tiny AM stations that would drop NASCAR races mid race to cover HS ball games...sigh.
So I am grateful but it stinks that BSPN gets by with this stuff.
They enjoy thumbing the fans with the gripes by just making everything worse with the camera work.
That's what is STUNNING TPTB in NASCAR haven't noticed.
Sam H got the black flag
Isn't someone talking to these guys in their earpiece during the broadcast? We shouldn't have to wait through a commercial break to find out something like who got black flagged.
Did not know you couldn't add fuel twice? When did this become a truck series?
Too much oil dry dumped on the track.
lol Junior's spotter is like "It looks like a sandstorm from this end"
There hasn't been any controversy today, so they're starting to sniff for some, in regards to the restart.
Black Flag per @NASCARSays#NASCAR Before the caution, Sam Hornish Jr. was posted for illegal refueling.
If you're on twitter and not following them you are missing alot about the racing.
Applies when you get the LD. Can't come back for gas, just get you lap back, pit once and go.
JP said the crash was in turn 4. What race is he watching?
Patrick, when your the lucky dog you pit with the leaders, that is the ONLY time you can pit for tires or extra fuel. The Ryan Newman rule. Since they would already be EOLL, nothing stops them from topping off every lap except for that rule. They do not want a "lapped" car getting an unfair advantage over the rest of the field, especially after being given a lap
Thanks, SalB.
@red- best camel movie : Hawmps from yhe mid-70's :)
@Brian - twitter won't load here. Is it down for anyone else?
#7 hit the wall for the last time. OUT, accident.
I think Tony's going to be upset with taking 2 tires.
Hey, i spotted a mistake. Racing in the big box.
Patrick...glad I could help our resident expert!
I turned on BSPN and Jamie talking "POINTS"
in all fairness MRN mentioned it a while back...must be a mandated SUITS thing.
just like the LOUSY tv work.
It's always interesting when we get past halfway, and DJ slowly starts to take the lead in play-by-play....he's starting to right now in this race.
@bevo: ashamed to say i've never heard of that one!
@tracy: i just hopped over there: all is well for me. (mike davis says rain is coming and he's taking his "mary poppins *butt*" over to pit road.)
Tracy
Twitter was working for me a minute ago but slow..
Ragan and Hornish make contact..sigh
USP helping FedEx.
If you are just joining us, welcome to the ESPN Incar Camera 500. Geez, here we go again!
Ooh, an accidental view of the entire frontstretch full of cars. Bet that doesn't happen again.
Oops, UPS.
@Tracy, its working for me, but not with Firefox... I am using Opera for twitter and Firefox for TDP.
Aha, Twitter is back!
re: Mary Poppins comment.
I saw that earlier..what does it mean???
Signed clueless
OMG Punch is lost....
I can't believe @Holmes just said, "If you just joined us..." 10 secs later, Punch, "if you just joined us..."
bwahahah
This is HORRIBLE coverage!
sophia, hoots said when it rained at the start not to have a bunch of pr folks out there with umbrellas mary poppins-ing up the place
Soph Nascar (Hoots?) told all the PR people to stay off pit road during the rain dealy. Something about not needing their Mary Poppins umbrellas.
29 spotter said rain is coming.
If only ESPN and Punch did listen to us, right?
Harvick: #$*@! #$*@! Excuses, excuses.
Childress: We'll talk later...
neat in car from the roof of the #2
is it my imagination or is Punch stumbling over alot of his words today
Used Opera for Twitter. Great idea.
I like Andy Petree's give and take with DJ. Two guys who think like the racers they are and pay attention.
@ dear Sophia, during the rain delay, the PR people had to leave pit road. Someone didn't want them opening all their umbrellas. Or, something like that.
drizzle spotters say...sigh
@sophia from twitter:
"Race director Hoots: "No PR people on pit road. We don't need the Mary Poppins's of the world bringing umbrellas."
Just what we needed to see them putting a frontend on Kurt's car. When they come back from commercials maybe we'll get a field update.
TJ Majors (#88 spotter), "Here comes the sprinkles"
Turn 3, "Getting a little rain here"
@red- little known movie. Showing my age again :)
Uh oh, i see rain on Junior's roof cam
Sophia, you know how the movie Mary Poppins begins and ends --- with Mary sailing in the air under her umbrella.
I like the analogy applied to the PR people. ROTFL
thanks for Mary Poppins replies. NOW I get it.
I'd give anything to be fly on wall with Kevin and RC
Matt's son says his car is tight now but we won't hear that from any pit reporters.
Does Joey Logano even shave? LOL
I can't wait until I see Speed Report and Victory Lane so I can see what happened during this race today.
in car cameras are NOT a bad thing...
They are just used *@$$-poorly by the networks these past couple seasons as a broadcast enhancement tool.
MRN has explained who has stayed out, who took 4 tires, who took 2 & going through a complete run-through of the field. ESPN is at commercial, will give us a rushed update & the green flag will be out. Side-by-side commercials could solve this.
I sometimes think Nascar makes up these rules as they go along.
MRN saying KyB not been contender today.
WOW. maybe Kyle will get mad and not talk after the race.
KB tweet says it is spitting rain on the track
Dont you love on-the-fly rules?
Turn 2 to tower: coming down pretty good now.
TJ: You don't mind a little rain
Jr.: It ain't raining.
Pace Car: We can't start.
Tower: put your flashing lights back on. we're not going to go.
Punch sounds like he's wore out. Like he's drained and it's affecting his concentration level.
VickyD
True about make it up rules. I think thats
why some say ETCH-A-Sketch rules. :)
Turn 2 to tower: we're good now.
Anyone going to Bristol next week? We can't, sigh. Have to haul dau's stuff to school on Sat. Takes her dad's pickup, my van, her car.
