Live Blogging Sprint Cup Series From Richmond (ABC - 7PM ET)

NASCAR follows college football on ABC Saturday night. The telecast is scheduled to begin at 7PM with thirty minutes of pre-race show.

Allen Bestwick will have a full house tonight. Ray Evernham, Rusty Wallace and Brad Daugherty are all in the Infield Pit Studio for the pre-race, the event and the post-race coverage. Evernham is a breath of fresh air and he works well with Wallace. Unfortunately, Daugherty is relegated to his cheerleader role in this scenario.

Marty Reid will be calling the race with Dale Jarrett and Andy Petree alongside. These three did not have a very good Friday night calling the Nationwide Series race. They had a long day on the air handling multiple sessions and that showed with the lack of energy on the NNS race telecast.

Tim Brewer will be in the Tech Garage. His performances have become cult classics as he reviews mostly the same information he has offered since 2007. Dr. Jerry Punch, Jamie Little, Dave Burns and Vince Welch are the pit road reporters.

ESPN has a formula that maddened fans on Friday night. Each segment of the race begins with wide shots and an overview of the race. Then, the director slowly zooms the cameras in just like FOX until only one or two cars is being shown on the TV screen at a time.

The telecasts for the viewers ultimately become a series of random cuts between pictures of two cars racing for position. ESPN had confirmed that this style will continue by now showing two video boxes on the screen, even at short tracks like Richmond.

What do each of the two video boxes have in them? That's right, a tight camera shot of two cars racing for position. Fundamentally, it's embarrassing that ESPN cannot adopt a NASCAR production strategy that makes sense for the fans watching at home.

There are a lot of other viewing options tonight, including top of the line sports. It's going to be very important as NASCAR moves into the Chase to harness some momentum tonight and carry it down the stretch as the sport begins to compete head-to-head with the NFL on Sunday afternoons.

This post will allow you to voice your opinion on the ABC coverage of the Sprint Cup Series race from Richmond. To add your comment, just click on the comments button below. This is a family-friendly website, please keep that in mind when posting. Thanks for taking the time to stop by.

How is it I get better race coverage & info from Twitter, MRN & Track pass? I get it faster than ABC/ESPN/AKAwhatever. Did anyone even know MM was still in the race? not from TV....

Hey John

I'M NOT THE TROLL.

Yeah, Tim, they need air in their tires!

sbtf, no problem! We like your enthusiasm.

Lovin Hotpass tonite, so far I know I've missed 3 Brewer spots and dont have to hear Captain Obvios and Polly chattering all night.

Love that aerial shot, wish we saw restarts from that angle.

GinaV24 said...

Hey, Red -- don't push yourself too hard. If sleep is calling you, hit record and watch the end of the race tomorrow.

Tim is so profound! Good to hear NASCAR isn't using H2O in the tires- Air what a new idea! Thanks Tim! Profound

ABC/ESPN is so interrupint their commercials tonight for this Nascar race! I am dizzy from the bouncy bouncy coverage. Is this director on crack? Thanks for letting me get that off my chest. Now to another commercial! ha Ha Ha

Daly Planet Editor said...

The reporters in the tower and the media center are talking about all the commercials and how it must be impacting viewership.

saltsburgtrojanfan said...

Thanks JD, i thought everyone confused me for a troll. Of course you could have our old buddy Erik.

GinaV24 said...

JD, me, too. I wish they'd use that aerial shot for the restarts, it would be really cool.

JD, there seems to be some issues with Google tonight

Daly Planet Editor said...

Vicky, unfortunately a lot of folks have left. Traffic is down all year. It's a hard sell in these tough times.

BTW, the NFL is just about to knock NASCAR off the TV map on Sundays.

Jonathan said...

I hope we see Terry full time next year

brad said...

@finance guy:
I am going to Dega which will be #6 this year and what i have seen is the more expensive seats that the track doesn't want to discount are the empty sections. They have pretty good deals at most tracks but not for the "prime" seats

@Darcie - Only 1 of the Chase races is a night race, Charlotte.

Gina, I am having a terrible time tonight. It takes forever to submit then I check and there's 2 or 3 posts from me. I thought it was because I had facebook & twitter open at the same time!

red said...

GinaV24: welllll, that would presume that i actually have some sort of recording device attached to my tv (which is clearly NOT the case, as jd will tell you!)

i've decided i'll blame/credit these new meds.

it's frustrating to not be able to catch any flow of the broadcast. the camera work is jumpy, there's no continuity of discussion or thought, we keep getting the most basic aspects of the sport as if we're watching for the first time, 26 races in. i just watched a 90+ minute soccer match where no one felt compelled to explain a goal kick or throw in or the wall or corner kick. granted, the director was a nitiwit again this week on fox soccer channel and the refs sucked but at least i wasn't treated like a neophyte who just stumbled across the match.

and there were ZERO commercials.

OSBORNK said...

To me, this is the least watchable Richmond Race I have ever tried to watch (and I've watched them all).

saltsburgtrojanfan said...

Hey JD In your respnse to Vicky what does traffic mean

Darcie said...

The Knoxville Nationals on Speed is offering a lot better racing than this stuff.

Red,
I saw that game too.Wasn't everything just simple? I wish races could be that way too sometimes.

Daly Planet Editor said...

sbtf,

Traffic is the volume of unique visitors and total pageviews that those of us who run websites are seeing this season.

OK gonna try this post again.

Yes commercials are affecting my veiwing - on the breaks in the race ( I'm being kind) I switch to Penn/Bama game. Then switch back (eventually)

And I don't get treated to "insight" about dumb stuff like this is a football it has air in it....

Jonathan, you are so right. I didn't like that in football either. It just makes me feel like I have vertigo.

JD, well, I've been a fan of NASCAR for a long time and its really tough to hang with it. I just don't find it as much fun as I did in years before the chase and the IROC car came in. Plus the erratic level of TV coverage.

I was watching that commercial for buying NASCAR stuff at nascar.com and realized that I don't think I've bought any souvenirs this year either.

wait, they just said the word "rain". Halfway through the race and back to commercial (sigh)

dara2K said...

Racing was pretty good starting off but now that chase is pretty much set and bouncy bouncy coverage, I'm losing the intensity of the race. I wonder if ESPN or Nascar clue into that. The "race to the chase" was kind of a thud this year. Hope the rest of the season has some "have at it boys" fireworks for real!...AND another commercial...Please shoot me now!

brad said...

luckily not having any issues with the blog here, twitter or facebook. Only issue I am having is trying to remember to switch back to the race from my Bama game. Race definately not living up to what I had hoped for.

ok, gang. i am offically out.

and before i get accused of being a "bad fan," know that i love our sport, i had a ticket for this race and was stoked about being able to go. health issues ended that so i was committed to watching it on tv.

but this is such a major mess that it doesn't even resemble the spot i love. and i just can't handle that tonight.

no flow, commercial overload so toxic that it has destroyed the beauty of racing at richmond. i'll catch up with the results later tonight and hope that maybe, just maybe, next week will be better.

will check in here for info, however, so keep it coming!

GinaV24 said...

You know what's funny -- ever since NASCAR busted Twitter Hamlin, they have called less cautions for no reason. I wonder if they realize that it makes them look more guilty than if they had just maintained.

Darcie, the racing looks fine to me. It's the coverage that's average. Not horrible, just not great.

Jonathan said...

id rather watch grass grow than men tackling eachother in tights???? LOL awsome stuff

Daly Planet Editor said...

Jon, compelling storylines and great media coverage brings fans to the sport.

Baseball used to rule, then NASCAR had a turn. Now, the new NFL is killing them.

oldnewenglander said...

Tennis is already done for the night. Straight sets, 6-2, 6-0.

BillyDelyon said...

He's horrible...

Anonymous said...

Thats easy - Brads watching NASCAR on espn on ABC!

brad said...

Well if the races were more compelling there would be more people sticking with the race. I love Nascar but i also love football. If the choice is crappy race or good ballgame I guess I am a bad fan because most of my attention is going the good telecast. I go to several races and no football games because the races are better in person and football is better on tv. The television partners for Nascar just don't get it. You have to captivate the audience.

saltsburgtrojanfan said...

oldnewenglander

for a time NASCAR put up mighty competition to the NFL. Now NASCAR is a shell of it's former self and the NFL is pulling away again. The economy has hit the sportsfan. NASCAR has had races not sellout and some NFL teams are in danger of being blackout. Despite the NFL blackout fear. The NFL had record ratings in 09. Good products trump terrible products anyday.

If you need me i'll be rooting for the steelers

Ann_Ominous said...

geez... can't believe when they came back from comercial and it was raining Marty said "We have completed 228 out of 400 races...."

This coverage is horrid!!!

Jonathan said...

I dont follow other sports very often but I remember hearing something about a strike in the NFL after this year that would soooooooooooooooooo be good for Nascar did they solve this problem or are we still curious about next years NFL season

saltsburgtrojanfan said...

brad said...

Jonathan:

GinaV24 said...

Jonathan, mmmm, burly men in tights. What's not to like? LOL

Of course if the TV coverage were better, I'd be less inclined to channel surf. I just refuse to watch commercials interrupted by a few laps of racing.

Debby said...

Facebook back up.
Race coverage still bad!!

oldnewenglander said...

Hate to even suggest this, but in the absence of the NFL, ESPN might load the Sunday schedule with college games.

red said...

the issue for me is primarily the crappy broadcasts. i know that i've been to races at dover that have been exciting and outrageous (think burton and kenseth a few years back) but when i read the blogs & chats the next day, i read a different race than i saw.

i stand by my nascar mantra: the racing is generally good; the broadcasts are overwhelmingly bad. so folks have no reason to believe that the racing is worth going to see live.

such lackluster & inconsistent broadcasting by all partners is a significant factor in keeping butts OUT of the seats & tvs tuned to something, anything, else when the race is happening.

the end of the contract may come too late.

Jonathan said...

LOL Gina

Charlie said...

broadcast team sounds board, tight shots and in-car cams. What is there to like.

Anonymous said...

NASCAR signed a contract giviing away the broadcast rights for cash, fans be damned, coverage too.

The NFL signs a contract ALLOWing the broadcast, protects the product & demands & gets changes as needed, to protect the image.

Big difference

Darcie said...

I'll happily be watching my Steelers and then in October, my Penguins. Nascar is basically dead to me, but it was never that way until Brian France brought on this stupid Chase. Can no one figure out that the Chase is nothing like the playoffs in stick and ball sports? It's contrived and stupid and provides nothing for the fan, other than being hacked off when their favorite driver who didn't make the Chase is virtually ignored by the media. What I cannot figure out is, why aren't sponsors putting more pressure on Nascar to clean up their act and make changes to Nascar that will make it better, and not just to line the pockets of the France Family

Jonathan said...

GO Kyle!!!! Did I just say that???? Yes yes I did only because I absolutley hate Denny Hamlin and DO NOT wanna see him win every again!

Anonymous said...

@Dacie - Amen to that!

Jonathan said...

Darcie its a shame Nascar is "dead" to you cause the Chase is going to be off the charts this year

GinaV24 said...

Lockouts are never a good idea for a sport. I was an avid hockey fan and quit watching when they cancelled the season that one year. Last year, even with the Flyers doing well, I just couldn't get jazzed up about it.

NASCAR successfully shot itself in the foot when they decided to overexpand. there is a difference between expanding your business to "enough" without overreaching and while they were at it, they also diluted and changed the "product". Nascar now has more dissatisfied customers than happy ones. It has made for a bad situation.

And let's face it, the tv coverage of football is much better.

saltsburgtrijanfan said...

Jojaye and Darcie

I could not have said what you two just said better myself

brad said...

Jonathan, I may just be cynical but what makes you think this year is going to be so much better?

Daly Planet Editor said...

Darcie, I had a big discussion about the dynamics of the Chase across the sport with a NASCAR senior type guy recently.

It's not working and is affecting all sorts of things from ticket sales to team sponsors.

All the playoffs in the other pro sports are competely different. It simply does not work in NASCAR.

GinaV24 said...

Jonathan, welcome to the dark side! LOL

OSBORNK said...

Kyle Busch is interesting to watch whether you like him or not. Some watch to see him win and other watch in the hope he wrecks or loses. Nobody has no opinion of him. The "bad guy" is the one who draws the crowd in Professional Wrestling. We now have the same thing on 4 wheels.

red said...

jonathan, you may be missing darcie's point: the chase is a contrived ending to the racing season. "off the charts" or not this year, it is a manipulation of the sport that was a knee-jerk reaction to kenseth's championship. heck, nascar can't even restrain from dinking with it every year so there's not even any consistency from champion to champion.

of late, nascar has been more about manipulating the sport than anything else.

They show the 20 car and never mention the smoke coming out of it in the turns.

Daly Planet Editor said...

Marty is clearly having trouble with the longer Cup races after working only the NNS races for ESPN this season.

Bestwick is the best option but I don't see that happening. I wish Marty was doing better, but he just does not have the focus for a longer Cup race it seems.

Darcie said...

At least with football, you don't get five minutes of play and then 10 minutes of commercials. Maybe Nascar should come up with something that after 20 laps, they have mandatory yellows, so that ESPN can have their five minutes of commercials?

Another thing, these friggin races are too long. The only long races should be Daytona, Dega, the Coke 600 and the Brickyard. Every other race should be no longer than 250 laps. With that, you'd have less of this merry-go-round, follow the leader silliness.

GinaV24 said...

JD, if they know its not working, why do they keep talking about tweaking it with this new elimination scheme?

Obviously BZF just cannot admit that he made a mistake.

Daly Planet Editor said...

Junior fixing to go a lap down, reporters talking about a mystery caution possible...LOL!

saltsburgtrojanfan said...

John
You hit the nail right on the head.

The old points system from 1975-2003 might have had some flaws but at least it was an honest one. Rewarding consistency and truly being the best all year long. Since the chase came in look what has happened. Jimmie Jack@$$ wins four in a row now looking for his fifth. Most wins gets the #1 seed in the chase. Drivers are points racing so to speak to make it into the chase. NASCAR Sprint cup racing is not real racing, bottom line.

GinaV24 said...

I got an e-mail from one of the sites selling racing souvenirs with the ad for Chase hats. They look almost like the hats from last year so why would I need to buy one every year?

Daly Planet Editor said...

Raining again I am told. Ms. Newman saying that.

OSBORNK said...

Darcie, the races are long so they can get all of their commercials in. Imagine a race an hour shorter with the same number of commercials.

Anonymous said...

Spotter for Tony said sprinkles are picking up again. And more commercials!

Daly Planet Editor said...

sbtf,

No company wants to spend 15 million for a Cup car, not have that car make the Chase and then be eliminated from TV, radio and the media for the last ten races.

The equation does not work for them.

oldnewenglander said...

Rehashing something I said years ago, but I always wondered why the solution to the Kenseth "problem" was the Chase. Seemed to me that you could just give big bonus points for winning races and resolve that.

Darcie said...

I don't see that, Jonathan. Off the charts? In what way. Jimmie and Denny will have the first two spots and then everyone follows. And all fans know that the Chase races fully favor Jimmie and his driving style. I will tell you this.....if Jimmie wins his 5th, it could be the death knell for Nascar. In this day and age of sports fans having short attention spans, they will not put up with this guy winning five in a row. At least in other sports, you have a lot of teams that can win a championship. Not so in Nascar.

GinaV24 said...

OsbornK, that's true, but with him running all 3 series, it is like being pounded over the head all the time and I react by NOT watching trucks or N'wide races because of it.

saltsburgtrojanfan said...

John we have one person responsible for the chase

KING BRIAN

He and TV ruined what was a good thing. King Brian got greedy.

Charlie said...

Why don't they have the crew cam guy turn his head cam on the Race Tracker and do the report that way.

RWar24 said...

ESPN's Race Tracker graphic is about as worthless as that Draft Tracker thing they tried at Daytona and 'Dega... blue air bad...

Daly Planet Editor said...

sbtf, maybe I should just go and talk to him about it. Hmm...

GinaV24 said...

oldnewenglander - it was Brian's pipe dream, that's how we wound up with this nonsense.

A 10 race winner is NOT the same as winning over a full season. And if they go to an elimination format with a winner take all scenario, I will never be able to give any credence to the winner of the trophy.

brad said...

On twitter even Dan Wheldon(Indy Car) commented about the load of commercials tonight. That just cant be good!

GinaV24 said...

JD, I'll chip in for gas if you'll go talk to Brian and tell him what the fans are really thinking!

Anonymous said...

@RWar - shhhh its our secret. We aren't casual fans LOL

Darcie said...

In a perfect world, the 2010 Champion would be a driver who didn't win a race. That would be a kick in the male-room to France and his anti Kenseth crap. BTW, Matt is my driver, being from Wisconsin.

JD, Brian France has too big an ego to ever admit that he made a huge mistake with the Chase, and I just can't see a Nascar big wig doing anything to change his mind. A real champion, like in the stick and ball sports, is someone who hacks it out all season and not in just some contrived playoff system. I wish someone would come along and buy Nascar from the France family and put the sport back together again.

glenc1 said...

OsborneK...it's the tracks that won't give up their miles. Not TV.

OSBORNK said...

I think the championship should go to the driver that wins the most races and forget the points. If more than one driver is tied for the most wins, I would have a runoff with the track being determined by picking it out of a hat.

I dont see people cant accept the Chase for what it is! I just wish they would do something for the regular season winner, like DW said today on raceday heck give the regular season winner choice of pit stalls for the chase give them something, that would be sorta like home field advantage! And why do I think the Chase will be awsome this year well theres no clear cut man to beat its going to be b@lls out racing all the way! I hate how everyone says oh everyone is points racing before the Chase.... Well what about when Football teams take out there starters to rest them for the playoffs like INDY did last year and the Chicago Bears do often??? Its a part of sports no matter what!!!! Trust me most racers hate points racing and only do it when needed just like Payton Manning (or however u spell his name) was p'd off when he didnt play the last regular season game last year!!! The coaches were smart made there decision and it is what it is! Same w when the cc says ok think big picture

Hey um Darcie

I'm no kenseth fan myself but I think NASCAR is pun ishing Kenseth for only winning one race and winning the cup. fast forward to 2006, Jimmie Johnson gets payback and wins his first of four cups. Under the old points system there would be different winners. Repeat winners were rare. Yep NASCAR is one big mess that is going to take a considerable amount of time to clean up

Daly Planet Editor said...

Jon, none of the playoff teams in sports rely on sponsors.

NASCAR teams pay the bills from sponsors and the Chase changed the TV exposure which is how that is measured.

The non-Chasers fall off the radar and there are a lot of them. Only the 12 and the race leader gets the exposure.

Without knowing this would happen, NASCAR changed the money dynamic.

brad said...

My Bama game is over. ROLL TIDE! and yet still find it hard to stick with the race. Actually thinking of watching the Oregon/Tennessee game. And that is almost illegal for a Bama fan to watch the Vols. That's just how bad the race is. AGAIN!

Darcie said...

Jonathan, the NFL teams do that for maybe ONE game. These guys are points racing for 26 friggin races!! When you hear guys like Montoya, Gordon, Jr, Stewart and many others fully admit they're racing for points and not racing too hard to screw up their chances, there's something inherently wrong with that.

OSBORNK said...

Jr. is going to have to really dig to finish in the top 5----Laps.

saltsburgtrojanfan said...

Once again Darcie very well said.

Hey everyone should apply this rule into their lives

Effort is not an option

red said...

jonathan, here's what nascar USED to give the leader after 26 races: the opportunity to continue to compete for the championship that was awarded after 36 races.

again, no manipulation of the sport.

run every race, run like it mattered -- not for points but b/c you're a racer and that's what you do. if you win, terrific. but if you're consistent and win only once while racing to the season championship, then so be it.

and that, my friend, is how this port ran until brian france took over and decided it needed to be made "more exciting" and "more new fan friendly."

i want my sport back.

when even people like Gordon and Stewart are having trouble getting sponsors, you know its an issue. the big corporations are saving their money too these days, especially when putting $ into race teams isn't as effective for marketing as it once was. And NASCAR has played a role in taking money from the teams for their "official whatever" of NASCAR, heck even Wal-Mart would rather do that deal than be on a car.

thanks, darcie. sometimes, i just wish i could sit in a room with nascar corporate and just TALK about my frustration with them.

Darcie said...

Excellent points, Gina. Even Jeff Gordon is having problems finding sponsors for next season. I mean, who wouldn't want Jeff as a spokesperson?

BTW, Tony is very near to putting Mobil 1 on his car next season.

good posts, darcie and red!

Have you seen Logano's GF? Nice young lady.

Needless to say, once you pass through puberty the gay jokes will probably fade a bit from your life.

Someday, you can get a GF too.

Looks like an arcade game with the 3 box look. Show us the race.

Daly Planet Editor said...

ESPN has to buckle down and get it. We don't care about the daggone stupid Chase and want them to call the race from start to finish. Lordy!

saltsburgtrojanfan said...

Less than 20 laps until our misery is over

My dream is for another driver outside the Chase to do what Tony did a few years back. Win a bunch of Chaseraces & flatten the whole ball of wax.LOL A girl can dream...

Jonathan said...

JD do you think we would be better off right now if there never was a chase??? I dont understand theres still 43 cars out there every race even during the Chase and they get tv time! It might not be much but honestly when do the teams that are not in the top 15 get much coverage even during the regular season??? If anything I feel the chase gives those who are say 12-25th during the regular season more passion to drive harder and get there sponsers tv time and into the Chase! Was the broadcasts honestly that much different before 04???? I've seen a few races from before then but not many cause its hard to find them but tell me what was different than (before the chase) than to now???? In 03 when Matt K won the championship before Homestead did they cover the whole field during all the races???? ive been a fan since 04 so the Chase is the norm for me and I like it I do and hope they dont change a thing

I've been watching since I came home from work:

- Commercials are overloaded again
- Empty seats at Richmond?!?
- Marty & co. are putting me to sleep
- The jumpy camera keeps me awake
- We are back to drama watch - do we really need half the screen devoted to Joe Gibbs watching the race?

GinaV24 said...

I sure think any sponsor would be lucky to have him, Darcie. As jeff foxworthy says - he can e-nun-ciate. LOL

Good news for Tony. I hope that Jeff's sponsorship stuff gets resolved soon.

Actually the one I wish would retire most right now is Johnson.

Anonymous said...

@Gina yes JJ retire - or atleast have a serious run of bad luck & finish 11th at seasons end.

saltsburgtrojanfan said...

NASCAR better make changes if they want to win longtime fans back

Daly Planet Editor said...

Jon, it's a simulated playoff with no real meaning because all the players still play and can win the races. It does not work for motorsports.

GinaV24 said...

Jonathan, that's probably the biggest difference in perception. You only know racing with the chase in place, those fans like me who started out with the full season championship as the norm usually don't like it as much.

I consider it a false way to determine a champion. Racing is not stick and ball and being the best over 36 races is much different in my opinion than being good over 10 races, especially when they are always run at the same tracks. The 48 team does it well, they get bonus points and put themselves in position to be at the top of things when the chase starts, but don't worry about being at the top of the points until then. Good over 10 races is not the same as good over 36.

Darcie said...

I'm not a Kyle fan, by no means, but at least that guy drives his cojones off each and every race, and tries to win. Not like so many of these other guys who's only focus is making the Chase.

Jonathan, once the Chase starts, TV and the rest of the media will only focus on the 12 guys, and once the Chase is five races in, and the lower of the 12 are eliminated, you won't hear about them anymore either.

I thought we would get a little something something at the finish, but no.

If you are leaving after the checkers, make sure and leave us a wrap up comment on the "Your Turn" post.

Still the most read post on the website. Thanks for the help.

Saw no other lead lap cars finish except Hamlin. Wow, just wow.

Charlie said...

No camera shot of who finished where except the top 2 or 3.

Does Espn/ABC have pride in what they do?

OSBORNK said...

Showing the lead lap cars cross the finish line is not that hard but it seems impossible for this bunch.

saltsburgtrojanfan said...

Well the race is over

God bless you all

I'll be reading your comments on the Your Turn

Hope everyone remembers 9-11

red said...

i second what GinaV24 and darcie said.

jd, if i only watched the early part of the race, should i still leave any comment? i mean, the very fact that i turned it off says something but i have little concrete feedback to offer, i fear.

Darcie said...

Ok, Rick Hendrick, how can you sit there and NOT make any changes to the 88 team? They are pathetic and something needs to be done. Personally, I would put Jr in Trucks and Nationwide until he's got his confidence back.

GinaV24 said...

very true, Darcie, I have to give kyle credit for that as well.

He doesn't points race, he just races which I have to admire.

Well, looks like Denny boy will be 1st for the chase.

ABJ!

I guess I know Nascar isnt stick and ball sports and thats why I dont watch em anymore!!! I use to watch NFL NBA and MLB all the time but once I got hooked on Nascar I never went back! I dont know maybe its cause like you all say I never got to see the Sprint Cup Championship get decided without a Chase, but I do follow Nationwide Trucks and Arca fulltime and theres no Chase there and Im sorry but I still get more pumped for the Chase than I do going into Homestead for the Nationwide Series!!! I dont know I feel like an outcast but I just dont get why theres so much hate

GinaV24 said...

Salt, I never forget. That day is permanently etched in my memory. I still can't watch any of the coverage when they run it on the news - its just too painful. I knew people in NYC who worked in those buildings.

God bless all the fire fighters, law enforcement and the military who keep us safe.

It was a waste, 140 laps to go I switched the History channel, checked in here now and then

Jonathan, no need to feel like an outcast. You like the chase and the way the racing is now and that's great - you are entitled to your opinion.

Just because some of us feel differently shouldn't change how much fun you are having. Honestly, I wish I was. Heck I have tickets to races in the chase and if Gordon were running better I'd be stoked, but for me, because of where he'll start the chase, there's almost no chance he can win the Sprint cup and that makes me sad and takes away a lot of the fun for me.
