The final part of a motorsports tripleheader is on FOX. After F-1 on SPEED and IndyCar on ABC, it's time for NASCAR's longest race.
Chris Myers hosts with Jeff Hammond and Darrell Waltrip. Mike Joy calls the race with Larry McReynolds and Waltrip. Krista Voda, Steve Byrnes, Matt Yocum and Dick Berggren are on pit road.

There was no caution called because Jr. was leading. How many cars did we see cross the finish line?

The combination of not throwing a yellow and for having rules that allow all of the Childress cars to daisy chain to save fuel is just embarrassing for a "sport".
I personally feel that there would have been a caution if someone other than Junior was in the lead.
And I find it awesome that the National Guard car lost it in turn 4 on the last lap in two consecutive races.
I feel badly for Junior and Hildebrand. They both were crushed just when they thought they were at the top.
I'm probably a lot younger than everyone else posting tonight, but I don't think I can recall a crazier day of racing ever.
FOX will never learn, but with Junior in contention like that, it's hard not to get excited.

The "Closer" is back!
Now they have something to match the Indy 500 finish. Five hours ago, I didn't think that that was possible.
I can't believe Jr didn't win. What a shocker finish for both Indy 500 and the Coke 600 (the latter I only watched 20 laps TOTAL)
The Indy i watched from flag to flag. Better production.
But energy in the Fox booth seemed great after 600 miles..then again, I like those guys. Not watching NASCAR races anymore I do miss Mike Joy And Larry McReynolds.

You know, i'm not one for baseless conspiracy theories, but with crapshoot consistency of yellows like tonight, NASCAR brings all the skepticism on itself.
Come on! Whats with all the negativity. For petes sake who cares they didnt throw the yellow, they let the race finish. Junior didnt win so stop the belly aching. My god. Everyone is so negative here.
If only NASCAR would be consistent in their cautions because I don't think that wreck at the end deserved the caution. But there were a couple spins earlier tonight like that which did get cautions.
I am of the philosophy that unless there are cars stopped on the track no caution should be thrown on a green white checkered.
NASCAR officials should be kicking themselves in the tuckus rather than giving themselves high 5's for that nonsense at the end.
Tony Stewart was right when he said it was like the WWE on wheels. I can't justify this kind of crappy officiating to my friends.

From Monaco to Indy to Charlotte a great day of racing,
Production wise pretty solid except for ABC, missed to many restarts and the leaders making green flag stops.
So I guess Harvick and the Childress guys get to experiment with tricks and make testing runs from here to Richmond, I take it?

Come on, guys. If NASCAR were really trying to throw it in Earnhardt Jr.'s direction, they would have thrown the caution just after he took the white flag when he was still leading.
They didn't. (Thank goodness,now that would have been hard to explain.)
I am speechless by the finish...and some of the comments here. Same people always claiming they are done with NASCAR....and yet you are still belly aching every week.

Gina hate to say it but it happens in all sports!!! i saw many calls that should of been in many games!!! its the last lap Jr is winning not much debri on the track why not let em race???

I think that NASCAR did the right thing too, but that's not going to stop the general press from making the wrestling analogies again.
No one hit the wall, no one was stopped on the track, clearly no one was injured. Why throw the yellow and have the risk of a more serious wreck on the next restart? Burton spun and kept going. No harm done.
Dont fault RCR for reading between the lines and allowing teamates to work together. Its legal. Anyone else could have done it.
If you want to get really technical....you're supposed to keep speed with the pace car and Dale Jr. clearly was not when he engine wouldnt start several times.

We already did our complaining about race control being gun shy with yellows at bizzare times; if they had at least stayed consistent in that manner, what would've been the point?
My negativity results from the fact that from the start of the race I believed that NASCAR would build a contrived finish if it looked like it wasn't going to be close.
They often give me a feeling that they have done something to make the finish better.
Biffle had a good lead and they couldn't take a chance that he would run out of gas. Then when Jr took the lead, well...
NASCAR is inconsistent on yellows. There were several times when I don't think one was called for. They call yellow so they can throw in a few commercials. And also to draw the field together for a good finish.
After Dale pushed Johnson to the finish at Talledega, he was owed.
And I don't think you should be able to push your teammate on the track when they stall or run out of gas either. Don't care whether it's the 2nd lap or the last.
Brett, one aerial replay of that in full would answer the question right away. Just one replay.
