I'm from Colorado, so MRN isn't in the equation, so I decided to "watch" the truck race blind. It was amazing! Even though it was Mikey in the booth, with Phil Parsons and Rick Allen, I could "see" the race the way it was meant. The last twenty laps were exciting, and I heard them tell me everything that was going on! I could visualize the action on the track even with no picture! It can be done. I don't know who the director was for that race on Speed, but that's the way it oughtta be. Now, with the impending death of Speed, Fox wanting to continue to broadcast races, and the still employed DW, there is no bright spot on the horizon. I wish I could amass all the money in the world, and I would create a network geared towards motorsports. I would hire Eli Gold, and John Kernan. Meyers is a good reporter, becomes a hokey character on NASCAR broadcasts.

DW needs to get back to his beginnings when he was a former champion offering honest, valuable opinions, not a goofball with corny sayings and not willing to criticize anyone for fear of alienating sponsors and/or drivers.

They also need a new director, someone who understands motorsports and doesn't direct the race base on a script. Because I fear that the new boss will think that schtick is working fine. DW did actually have some good moments before he decided he could read the drivers' minds and started back tracking every time he was proven wrong about something.
