GREAT PICTURE CLARITY and color...does not have CC though...bummer as it's one of the tv's in the LR when we watch Two races in the summer (IRL and long NASCAR race) CC is VERY handy and you miss it when you don't have it. :)

HOWEVER the one LR TV (older one) does half cut off the ticker on SPEED and ESPN but not on FOX or CNN...I guess the tickers are sized differently but I digress.

It's 63 and Krist had hat on her head? This is called overscan. That is not the Broadcasters fault it is just how your TV reads the picture. I think the problem was with the TV's overscan more than the broadcast.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2080132098367510832.post-79878457669049261132008-03-07T20:55:00.000-05:002008-03-07T20:55:00.000-05:00anon at 8:50,That's exactly what the TiVo style fo...anon at 8:50,

That's exactly what the TiVo style format of televising qualifying is supposed to be used for. TV can get their commercials and the viewers at home can still see all the qualifying runs in their entirety and the people in attendance don't have to sit through "TV timeouts". It's the perfect scenario for everyone involved.

Unfortunately we lost out tonight since the TiVo style was not used. Even if they weren't going to use it for the whole session (which I think they should have), they could have spared 3 minutes of broadcast time to TiVo the go-or-go-homers that were skipped for commercials.stricklinfan82https://www.blogger.com/profile/01808897974344304657noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2080132098367510832.post-32739203634732568942008-03-07T20:54:00.000-05:002008-03-07T20:54:00.000-05:00Anonymous said... Every other televised sport does it.

There is no reason why we should miss a single GOGH qualifying run. Hold off the next car until TV gives the signal they are 30 seconds away from returning, and send the next car out there.

Its not rocket science. I have to believe that if Schrader bumped Vickers that they would have moved Brian to the #84 car since he's currently 13th in driver's points and Skinner is just a temporary replacement and not the permanent driver of the 84 car.

That's the tough part about watching these qualifying sessions when you don't "have a dog in the fight". The only difference is one channel compresses the signal so SDTV's can read it and the HD channel sends the HD feed strait from the production truck to your HDTV. That definitely needs to get worked on. Again, it would have taken 3 extra minutes of on-air time to TiVo Lamar and Andretti's runs.
