Many people posted negative comments about her -her writing is what affects how people view her on Trading Paint, not just her appearances on the show. People know her from her writing. So I was just noting that she seems to be letting some bias show through again.

Which is why some will never like her Trading Paint appearances.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2080132098367510832.post-48391844408952316282008-05-26T01:07:00.001-04:002008-05-26T01:07:00.001-04:00Anon 12:27AM,I am not quite sure where you are goi...Anon 12:27AM,

I am not quite sure where you are going with that one, but I will let it stay.

Fryer is a print reporter who writes for the AP and they sell her stories to the other media outlets.

Is this a follow-up on her Tradin' Paint show?

JDDaly Planet Editorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13834588435004023666noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2080132098367510832.post-6565310152234312992008-05-26T01:07:00.000-04:002008-05-26T01:07:00.000-04:00Add to above post: not that Fryer or Poole is writ...Add to above post: not that Fryer or Poole is writing the actual story headlines, but the writers of those headlines write them based on what's at the top of the story they see. Poole's story was mainly about Kahne, so the headline reflects that. Fryer's was about Stewart first, Kahne way down several paragraphs so that's what the headlines note.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2080132098367510832.post-89961208932546046352008-05-26T00:59:00.000-04:002008-05-26T00:59:00.000-04:00Yes, it's the second week in the row where she has...Yes, it's the second week in the row where she has downgraded Kahne's win. Last week her original article which came out Saturday night was so one-sided (saying Kahne shouldn't have been in the race, and he was in it because his fans think he's cute) that the next morning the top section had been rewritten. Obviously she hasn't learned.

David Poole also brought up Tony was leading the race, but he did it middle way through the story, and Kahne and Francis gave Stewart credit rnning a good race in Poole's story. But Poole led the story with the actual news - that Kahne won - and made it the story focus. For some reason, Fryer seems unwilling to do that.

She made it seem like Stewart not winning was the upset of the season or something. I wonder if she and Kasey have had a run in of some sort.

Now nascar.com, which is running her story, changed their headline to match her story. A little while ago, it said "Kasey Kahne wins two weeks in a row, ends drought." Now it says "Right place, right time: Stewart's late slip hands Kahne Coca Cola win." She made the story mostly about Stewart, not Kahne and now, so has nascar.com.

It's sad because her story is the first story used everywhere - on Nascar.com, yahoo.com, and ESPN.com until the other writers file their stories.

David Poole's story was called: "Kahne Backs Up All Star Win with Another on Sunday." which to me is a fairer headline than Fryer's.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2080132098367510832.post-14067854711901658672008-05-26T00:45:00.000-04:002008-05-26T00:45:00.000-04:00AnonI don't read much of Jenna's stuff. This situation was a combination of Phoenix, where Johnson had a huge lead in a fuel mileage race, and Martinsville where cars were running out of gas and racing for position all over the place on the final lap. On both of those prior races we saw the winner and the winner alone and never saw anyone else running out of gas or racing for positions to the line during the live broadcast. On this day however they showed the extra commitment to showing Carl run out of gas and catching the rest of the pack crossing the line, so I'm very thankful for the change.

They gave us a couple second tease that they were gonna show the 18-16 battle for 2nd split-screened with Kahne taking the checkered flag before switching to an all winner and flagman zoom shot so that was a slight bummer but like I said I'm still thankful that we got what we got.

I could nitpick minor things to death but there were no major glaring issues in my mind. I haven't read any other comments yet but if anyone happened to bring up this issue, I'm not angry about Fox missing Stewart blowing a tire live. These races aren't scripted so it's impossible for the director to have supernatural powers and know where to have the live shot focused so everything is caught live. This was hardly Talladega last fall when ESPN inexplicably missed a last lap lead change.

I'm glad to know that our input matters and that changes in philosophy have been made. Thanks Fox for a very enjoyable 5 1/2 hours of coverage! I've been among the harshest critics of you guys when I felt mistakes were being made but I do like to think I'm the first one to jump in line and praise you all when things go well.

Somewhere I hope TNT is still filling up their notebook of 10 months worth of NASCAR race broadcast notes and Daly Planet comments....stricklinfan82https://www.blogger.com/profile/01808897974344304657noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2080132098367510832.post-86943085475260868082008-05-25T23:08:00.000-04:002008-05-25T23:08:00.000-04:00BevoI also coulda sworn this was a blog to write o...Bevo

I also coulda sworn this was a blog to write our comments/opinions about racing coverage?

Didn't yew?

Guess weez the dumb ones.

;-)

By the way JD.

thanks for a FANTASTIC DOUBLE DIP for the blog!! I wonder if he can ever be a true NASCAR superstar (which NASCAR would like him to be ) because it's so hard for him to show emotion. Whenever a driver comes over to him while he's being interviewed and tries to joke around, like Sadler did tonight in Victory Lane, he acts very, very, awkward instead of laughing and getting in on the joke. He was kind of acting like "What are you doing here?" to Sadler. It makes the whole thing awkward. Just like when he's on Trackside - painful. It's OK to laugh sometimes, Kasey!

I'm glad he won though.
