NASCAR Wins On Saturday Night
For those of you who ask about TV ratings, here is the official information that the Sprint Cup race from Darlington in primetime beat the other programs on the broadcast TV networks that night.
Fox averaged 7.4 million NASCAR fans for the Darlington 500 Saturday night and easily won the evening.
CBS placed second with an average 5.8 million viewers for a "CSI: Miami" repeat, a "Criminal Minds" rerun and a new "48 Hours Mystery."
ABC attracted 4.5 million with the NBA playoffs (Cavaliers vs. Celtics) and NBC came in fourth among the broadcasters with 4.1 million viewers for reruns of "Medium," "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" and "Law & Order."
I would guess that those 1PM Sunday start times are going to be a thing of the past.

This weeks show was a little better than previous shows. The drivers got to talk and share stories and knowledge but they are still spending too much time on the next race. Also to much hype. They need to do a more in depth discussion of the past race like they did in the old show. I think that they are not up to the level of Nascar Now on ESPN.

You mean on Saturday nights or later on Sunday? To tell you the truth, I appreciated this past Sunday just to recoup from the week and not "have" to watch NASCAR on Sunday for a change.
As for the ratings, I wouldn't say repeats of CBS and NBC shows or basketball are much competition. But if more people were watching, maybe we now have some new fans.
