Fourteen Hours Of Friday NASCAR TV From Phoenix
The TV express is leaving the gate at 11AM sharp Eastern Time and not taking a break until 1AM the next morning. NASCAR fans have 14 hours of TV programming coming their way on Friday from Phoenix.
The SPEED team takes to the air first and stays live right up until the 9PM Nationwide Series race on ESPN2. Steve Byrnes and Mike Joy will take turns directing traffic all day long as the network covers practice and qualifying sessions for both the Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series.
Joining Byrnes and Joy are the usual suspects, including Hermie Sadler who again will be handling the Nationwide Series on-track activity from the announce booth. Sadler will call the practice session with Byrnes and then have the opportunity to work alone with Joy on qualifying. Sadler has come a long way and with lots of hard work has turned himself into a very credible analyst.
By the time the Nationwide Series takes to the air at 9PM, ESPN's Jamie Little will be out on the West Coast. NASCAR fans may remember that last year Little held off Mike Skinner in a fender-bending final dash to the flag to capture the pro-celebrity race during the Long Beach Grand Prix weekend. This year she is back to defend her title. This time, however, she starts in the back of the field with the pro's.
Brad Daugherty, Rusty Wallace and pit reporter Dave Burns also have the weekend off. It seems that some folks are enjoying spring break after all. Mike Massaro steps-in for Burns, while Dale Jarrett will do double duty on the pre-race show with Allen Bestwick and then up in the booth alongside Dr. Jerry Punch and Andy Petree.
When all the racing on ESPN2 is done, fans get a nightcap with Trackside on SPEED at midnight ET. David Stremme and Martin Truex Jr. are the guests.
This post will serve to host your TV-related comments about the marathon of NASCAR TV on Friday from Phoenix. To add your opinion, just click on the comments button below. This is a family-friendly website, please keep that in mind while posting.
Thank you for taking the time to stop by The Daly Planet.
I like these kind of days! With the help of the DVR it is great to be able to come and go and still keep up by rewinding and fast forwarding through the coverage.
ReplyDeleteI also just wanted to say it is good to be back...I have a new laptop and am ready to enjoy my first race of the year with the dalyplanet on the screen!
I have to work all day tomorrow but, I'll be visiting TDP.
ReplyDeleteUntil the race.....
Im looking to watching NASCAR on SPEED this weekend....however...I have dish network and i get to see it all in beautiful crappy SD...any word on when Dish will get SPEED in HD???
ReplyDeleteAdd the coverage of F1 practice this morning via dvr and on the back-end qualifying tomorrow morning!
ReplyDeleteThe schedule is pretty funky this weekend, but I like it. After having no Cup action last weekend, I need a whole day of Sprint Cup practice and qualifying!
ReplyDeleteI'll be picking info up via TDP and the live leaderboards. Wish I didn't have to work!!
ReplyDeleteI'll make it back home for most of the NW race though. yay! Racing!
I'll be at Long Beach watching the practice.
ReplyDeleteYou've gotta love TV weekends like this. Major thanks to Speed Channel for the day-long coverage.
ReplyDeleteOne of the most troubling inequities of this TV contract has been getting almost all the live practice coverage a fan could possibly hope for from February through July and then getting nothing but a nonstop barrage of practice blackouts and tape-delays in the most important part of the season (from July through November).
Here's hoping that things will change in 2009 and TV weekends like this will no longer become a distant memory once the Brickyard rolls around.
Good luck to Jamie I thought last year's final lap was exciting for her and it turned us into big Jamie racing fans.
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday everyone!
ReplyDelete<3ing the great news for AJA!
Very busy Friday in TV land :)
Can't wait for the races today and tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteJust heard that Helio Castroneves and the other two on Federal Trial were acquited.
Will he come back to IRL now?
I also hope Helio can return to IRL!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI kept hoping since the jury kept asking more questions while deliberating, that that was a good sign. :-)
This is one of those weekends where I have to record the races and watch them the next morning. As usual, I will read everyone’s comments after I watch the race.
ReplyDeleteIn the past, DW, Larry and Mike have noted that practice speeds are not always a true picture because teams are trying different things during practice. I’ve noticed that this season, Mike Joy firmly declares a “winner” of practice. This makes me wonder if that lovely gentleman in the truck, the one who loves Digger, has decided that a winner must be named. :)
Hope all my fellow planet dwellers enjoy the race.
Hey, it's me Dot cheating at work. Yes, Helio will be racing on Sunday. Glad he won his case. He should probably take the Treasury Secretary to dinner. Ol' Tim paved the way. lol
ReplyDeleteDot, we won't tell your boss you are sneaking onto the internet to post on TDP. Hey, good for Helio, bet he'll be a great interview this weekend.
ReplyDeleteI am trying to catch up o everything I dvr'd it's gonna take me a while, haven't decided if I'm going to be live with Cup qualifying and the NW race. Decisions Decisions
ReplyDeleteI may be the only one on here who hates days like this... a happy medium would be good.
ReplyDeleteThank goodness I was asleep earlier, so I missed a bit.
I will be listening to the NW race via MRN tonight. Did that last week and found it to be enjoyable. Less Cup driver talk.
I really loved the Nationwide qualifying with Mike jOy and Hermie Sadler, man what a great combination. Sadler has definitely come into his own and they made a great pair. I certainly hope that the quality of broadcasting is there tonight from the ESPN II crew too.
ReplyDeleteAnyone having audio problems with Speed today? Time Warner SW Ohio said no one has reported an issue. Missing (maybe that's a good thing!) all of the chit chat.
ReplyDeletePretty nice day on SPEED from Phoenix. Mike Joy is earning his money today. Loved Wendy's interview with Carl after the accident.
ReplyDeleteJD
boyd and sophia--if you haven't heard by now, Helio is scheduled to be there Sunday. Mr. Penske Sir has a car for Will (the #12) and Helio will be back in his #3 short of any kinks in that plan :)
ReplyDeleteHey Guys, I'm home and ready to post.
ReplyDelete@ Debby, My SPEED channel keeps cutting in and out. Don't know if it's them or the Cox cable truck outside my house messing with things.
ReplyDeleteDot it's that truck.
ReplyDeleteDot, pay the cable bill already!
ReplyDelete@ Nrf, I thought that. However, no clue where the guy is.
ReplyDeleteI am so bummed that Jeremy Mayfield missed the Cup field again.
ReplyDeleteJD me too, I read somewhere that it's all about the engine (he doing the leasing on the less expensive version and apparently you get what you pay for)
ReplyDeleteJD, are you live blogging the NNW race tonight?
ReplyDeletelol @ JD re: Dot. My friend is in CO and they're having a MAJOR snow storm. But the storm some how knocked out only the *higher* tiers but left the lower tiers alone. It's fixed now but very odd. Or at least that's the excuse the cable company gave
ReplyDeleteDot, declaring a "winner" of practice is something that annoys me, too. I've heard him say it before this year, though.
ReplyDeleteAnother thing the FOX booth does that gets on my nerves is trying desperately to coin the phrase "Overdrive" when referring to a green-white-checkered finish. When I hear this, I can't help but think they're envious of the way Wally Dallenbach just off-handedly dropped the phrase "Lucky Dog" and it stuck. It not only stuck, it became institutionalized in the sport.
The difference is that the free-pass rule was brand new at the time, and there was no precedent for how it was referred to. The green-white-checkered rule has been around in racing for years, and has been know as that, or GWC for short. "Overdrive" is just not catching on.
Off topic, I know....sorry.
@ JD, at least my internet was working. I have the bundle. TV is fine now too.
ReplyDelete@ Gymmie, no snow here today. We did have some flurries on Wed believe it or not.
@ JD, speaking of Jermy, what's going on with NASCAR Wives? Any word?
ReplyDeleteWOW! In the desert? Interesting!
ReplyDeleteLet's just put our race comments right on this post. Seems to be a small crowd online for this tilt tonight.
ReplyDeleteThe TLC guys will not comment on NASCAR Wives, got a email festival going on with NASCAR Media Group. Should have some info soon, but the show is not even on the TLC website.
JD
And aren't we sick of seeing cacti every year when Nascar is in Phoenix. A really bad storm came through here about 5 and it's still cloudy. Hope the weather will be ok for the races.
ReplyDeleteI was wondering about that JD! I'll look forward to the update.
ReplyDeleteWhere are you Vicky? Stay safe!
Here's to a good race! Go Mr. Alligator Go!
Did anyone send a question to Kylie?
@Dot - still no audio on our TWC Speed. Picture cutting in and out and freezing. No weather excuses - 74 & sunny. Glad the Nationwide race is on ESPN2.
ReplyDeleteHey everybody
ReplyDeleteGREAT to read the news here on Helio. Yay.
:-)
Start and parker already off?
ReplyDeleteKenny W and Blaney S&Ps??? Did you hear JP mention it? Wow.
ReplyDeleteClarification, I didn't think KW & DB were S&Ps. JP didn't call them that either.
ReplyDeleteCook and Blaney....hhmmm...
ReplyDeleteCook's out and so is Blaney. KW back on. I'm surprised about the Odd Wads still running. Some pretty well too. Of course we'll never hear about them.
ReplyDeleteOK, did you guys leave me here by myself?
ReplyDeletePoor Carl. Only 30 mins of practice. How many times are we going to hear that? Like Carl has never raced at Phx before. Good grief.
Cousin Carl got into Mikey :(
ReplyDeleteDot I'm here but somewhat behind, just saw the 52 spin.
ReplyDeleteOn second thought.......
ReplyDeleteGymmie guess I ave something to look forward too :( Bummer, I was trying to figure out how he went from 1st to last
ReplyDeleteI'm here Dot! Going back and forth multi-tasking 4 racing areas (here, 2 on JTV and SPEED), twittering and checking on other forums and such
ReplyDeleteMikey's fans aren't going to like that! I'm here but hubby is jumping from Astros to race so we are a little behind.
ReplyDeleteOK Carl guess you forgot how to lift. TWIN should be fun perhaps we will get more that 10 seconds of NW coverage.
ReplyDeletenrf---yes that was a shame :(. Mikey was minding his own and Cousin Carl decided Mikey was in the way. Sure he might have been a bit slower but he didn't deserve to be dumped like that :(
ReplyDeleteDid we lose JD?
Sounds like Carl went to KyB Charm School.
ReplyDeletePoor Mikey.
I wonder if Mikey parked it, he was really hoping to do well here. Poor Best Western it's their home track.
ReplyDeleteOK here's Mikey. He is not a happy man.
The CUP race may be a little more interesting tomorrow. Not to say drivers hold a grudge.
ReplyDeleteI hope you're right Nrf. Is Biff on Mon? I forgot to look. I think Mikey won't say too much in front of his teammate.
So Kyle's having a bad day and I'm waitig for the Carl karma train to hit and then perhaps we can watch the race and not the Carl and Kyle show
ReplyDelete@Dot LOL
ReplyDeleteI always for the most part, found Cuz Carl a sneak. Mikey did not deserve that. So early in the freaking race too.
I'm sure Carl didn't mean it Mikey! He was just rattling your cage.
ReplyDelete@ dear Sophia, from your lips......
ReplyDeleteOh for crying out loud is there anyone else in this race
ReplyDeleteOops, that was for Nrf.
ReplyDelete@ dear Sophia, I agree with you. Edd ie Haskell he is.
All Sprint Cup drivers all the time.......
ReplyDeletenrf, you muwt be psychic about Carl and his karma.
ReplyDeleteOh boo hoo to KyB. It's only his moonlighting job. I wonder if he'll run the whole season if he keeps having problems.
ReplyDeleteThe Odd Wads are still running in the 20s. I'll mention them if they won't.
JD don't forget to 10 second Allgier and Austin Dillon mentions, are there more than 4 cars in this race, oh yea 5 but Mikey had to part it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a difference a week makes. We saw so many other cars last week all we are seeing is Carl!
ReplyDeleteNo stories, no recaps...nothing.
ReplyDeleteCan you hear the channels changing?
That was park it.
ReplyDeleteI am really getting POed at this all cup all the time. Heck Brad K is in 7th ad Burney Lamar is in the top 15 and we have NOTHING.
The only time we are seeing Kenny is when Carl passed him and when KB passed him. We need Marty back!
ReplyDelete@ VickyD, too true.
ReplyDeleteOK, who will they show after the comml, KyB or Carl?
Is it JP or the director, oh look it Carl again
ReplyDeleteAnd who cares what the points are as of now????? I cannot believe showing only Carl & Kyle. SO many other stories abound and nothing from ESPN.
ReplyDeleteNext week they're changing the name of NW to: Carl Edwards and the NW Series with Kyle Busch.
ReplyDeleteSomeone is reading TDP. Going thru the field.
ReplyDeleteDot - but how far thru the field?????
ReplyDeleteBummer stopped too soon, they could have done the entire lead lap there are not that many of them.
ReplyDeleteOh boy. The top 10.
ReplyDeleteI hope Algaier (sp?) isn't going CUP racing next year. He's doing a great job where he is.
Invisible debris? Whatever happened to the clean up crew. And we were worried.
ReplyDeleteKarma Edwards. Good call Nrf.
Are we going to see anyone else coming off pit road?
ReplyDeleteI hear the train a coming
ReplyDeleteLOL @ Dot! They pretty much need to! It's Kylie and Carl ALL THE TIME and if one is lucky they "might" remember that someone else is in the race when it doesn't involve an accident or penalty.
ReplyDeleteCarl blah blah blah...Kylie blah blah blah...huh? what's that? who? never heard of him. what do you have on him (reads)..oh yeah...folks we've just been informed that somehow some driver named Joe Blow has made his way into the Carl and Kylie show and looks to be in 3rd place. Not sure how it happened must talk to track security about that one. We promise it won't happen again...now back to Carl blah blah blah...Kylie blah blah blah
Mikey's in his motorhome making that noise he does on TWIN seeing Karma in the pits.
ReplyDeleteIt took almost 100 laps for ESPN to recognize the great drive for Algaier.
ReplyDeleteWayyyy too much time spent on the Kyle Busch troubles..... he's 2 laps down....get over it !
ESPN coverage tonight is just plain terrible.
Burton 2 laps down, cup guy, wonder if they will tell us why
ReplyDeleteKen he's now only one lap down it will be all Kyle all the time because Carl is not up front. This is a mess
ReplyDelete@ Gymmie, you're killing me. Top billing for you girlfriend.
ReplyDeleteDot--just call him Alligator...it's easier. But it's spelled Allgaier...you almost had it just needed one more "l". It was funny to learn that is an actual nickname of his. But I started calling him that after one of Carol's columns when he was in the Pick 'em Ups. She mentioned the leaderboard on SPEED made the name if looking quickly read like Alligator vs. Allgaier :)
ReplyDeleteGymmie - good one! Terrible race coverage - well I wouldn't actually call it race coverage - I'd call it Carl & Kyle coverage. This is why Nationwide fans have issues with the cup guys in these races!
ReplyDeleteIs KyB getting his lap back? Worked out for him last time. OMG just as I was typing.
ReplyDelete<3 Dot
ReplyDelete@ Gymmie, I'll start calling him that too. I remember I thought the same thing when I first saw his name.
ReplyDelete@ VickyD, right on.
If the guys in the booth would just listen when they open the drivers' radios on the air, instead of talking over them, they might know what's going on.
ReplyDeleteWhat a concept!
ReplyDeleteBeen multitasking paying little attention since Mikey interview.
ReplyDeleteGlad to see othrs think the coverage STINKS TO HIGH HEAVENS.
Carl and Kyle ZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. THOUGHT this was NW race. too bad Carl didn't blow up.
If I see the cat in the hat one more time, I'm gonna scream.
BSPN is Pit T Full.
I'd rather hear an interiview with Helio...IMAGINE how he might actually get some SLEEP TONGIGHT!
this freaking word very thing is getting LONG again
(No offense JD I know it's needed buy mercy,8 or more letters)
<3 Vicky. Yes it's so sad that not too long ago they actually COVERED the (then) Busch guys and they actually won and had chances to run up front. Then it all changed literally overnight and if you weren't a Cup driver the only chance you had to win was a standalone race where you had less Cup drivers to beat
ReplyDeleteWell MRN isn't on their "A" game again, but much better than the last race.
ReplyDeleteFrom reading the comments it does sound like my race on radio is much better. At least they have kept up with the whole field. (for the most part)
I guess with CE and KB being back next to each other, ESPN will cover the end of lead lap cars.?
I wonder if the leaders will matter?
Instead of resetting the field we get a Carl and Kyle update, it's not like this is the last few races of the season. This has just gotten progressively worse all season. No wonder no knows who is a Nationwide only driver.
ReplyDeleteReally??? After every comml? Carl & KyB. Wow, NW guys mentioned.
ReplyDeleteThe NW only drivers need to say something about all this CUP driver coverage. It's fine if they want to race, but to infect the entire series?
Token mention of the Odd Wads. Sadly, all NW only drivers are now Odd Wads.
AAAXK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteJP is actually giddy talking about KB getting both of his laps back. Who is in the top 10 AP & DJ?
ReplyDeleteSTOP with the points already there are a lot of races left in the season, talk about the racing
ReplyDeleteCarl or Kyle, which one?
ReplyDeleteI only just turned the race back on... but from what y'all are saying, at least not on tv.
ReplyDeleteNooooo... Vile Kyle's back in contention!
Biff????
ReplyDelete@ hotaru,
ReplyDeleteI like that. Vile Kyle.
Oh heaven help me Carl's in the garage what ever will all the race fans do.
ReplyDeleteBlogger Newracefan said...
ReplyDeleteSTOP with the points already there are a lot of races left in the season, talk about~~~
Isn't this FREAKING annoying. They act like it's the last 5 races of the season?
No wonder nobody is watching.
GREAT more crapola to cover up green flag racing.
I hear cars running ...is this a caution?????????
I can't hear a ******** word Carl is saying.
Kenny Wallace had to go behind pit wall after about 5 laps but has returned and now is ahead of Carl Edwards in the standing for this race. How did this happen?
ReplyDeleteThey are showing the #60 car behind pit wall and not showing the racing! This coverage is pathetic. It would be a good race to show students how NOT to do a race broadcast. This is terrible. My hubby is saying this is one of the worst races he's ever seen.
ReplyDeleteNow we get the in car interview. Can't even understand him. Did hear the karma comment. Hee Hee Hee.
ReplyDeleteWE CAN'T HEAR CARLS YOU IDIOTS.
ReplyDeleteBSPN, just when we think you can't disappoint more, you manage.
LOL. best mumble mumble ENGINES mumble interview with Carl Edwards ever.
ReplyDeleteI hardly ever have an issue with Cup drivers in NW. But they are kind of making it, well, the Carl and Kyle show.
JP it's a very frustrating evening of us viewers too!
ReplyDeleteoh, and double post to agree. Shut up about the points already.
ReplyDeleteI know it isn't anymore, but don't drivers want to _win_??
Oh I guess there is no cup race tomorrow but there is a NW race next week
ReplyDeleteOh thank God a through the field
As a huge Nationwide series fan, what is with the Kyle & Carl show? One was -2 laps and one behind the wall and get more coverage than 75% of the regulars. Why did Kenny Wallace, Morgan Shepherd, Johnny Borneman go behind the wall? With the 89 several laps down, how does this change the top 30?
ReplyDeleteThey can count past 10??
ReplyDeleteFinally showing one of my favs, Brian Scott.
ReplyDeleteBrian Scott drives a NW car, who knew
ReplyDeleteIf they throw enough cautions Carl can get his laps back and we can watch the Carl & Kyle show again.
ReplyDeleteWas Carl near JWT? Nope.
ReplyDeleteOops what happened to the booth and AB is calling the race, so he throws it to Clint what...
ReplyDeleteSo much air time for JWT. It must have been a mistake on ESPN's part.
ReplyDeleteTonight's coverage kind of takes away the argument TV people have been telling us of "if you want coverage, run up front"
ReplyDelete@ VickyD, the script was changed because of Carl. Now they have to ad lib.
ReplyDeleteThese races need Marty back in the booth. This is terrible. I'm tired of hearing about the points too.
ReplyDeleteSounds like DJ has been reading our comments. Talking about points so early in the season.
ReplyDeleteMRN are calling a tough battle for 1st for 3 laps and where is the tv coverage?
ReplyDeleteOH wow they finally show the leaders.
We have nothing better to do than a pre-taped Allgaier piece and an interview with Delana Harvick.
ReplyDeleteDelana decided not to be on the pit box. Kevin said that she's more superstitious than he is.
ReplyDeleteESPN gets a bonus, the owner happens to be the wife.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad the race is on radio.:)
Well at least Kevin Harvick races a NW team and only has NW pitcrew too. ESPN is showing BK right behind KB and they go to commercial. I can't believe what we are watching.
ReplyDeleteI don't care if somebody won the Championship by 5 points.
ReplyDeletetalk about the entire race TONIGHT instead of scripted bologna.
Geeze.
i have surfed the net and twittered and read twitterer folower profiles.
YAWN.
The producer has NO CLUE how to bring us a race.
My brother is at Phoenix and says the racing is always GREAT in person.
I need to email him on his Blackberry.
You'd think they were running the November Phoenix Nationwide race with the way they keep showing the championship points.
ReplyDeleteOh by the way Brad passed Kyle, poor Scott what happened there, he was doing well too.
ReplyDeleteScott L was having a great race what a shame one less full time NW driver for ESPN to show!
ReplyDeleteThe interesting thing about that is they didn't say Keselowski had gotten around Busch or showed it. They just mentioned Keselowski was in 4th, as if he'd been there the whole time.
ReplyDeleteWhy not get gas while you're there? Even a couple of drops.
ReplyDeleteJust something else we get to hear about. Will KyB run out of gas?, until the end of the race.
This is pathetic..didn't even show the race off pit road...guess thats the cherry on top
ReplyDeleteand coming back from commercial and not resetting the field...just pathetic
ReplyDeleteWhy aren't there safer barriers all around that track? Roommate told me Alligator hit there during qual. What's wrong with PIR? Maybe they can use some of that stimulus money that the race tracks got from the govt (us).
ReplyDeleteGuess they didn't notice Casey had NOT put the window net down, was no one besides me concered for the driver. No lets just show the wreck 4 different ways we'll be back to see if that driver is OK.
ReplyDeletePunch had been doing pretty well this year. But tonight he's taken a step back. It's as if he got caught up everything revolving around Busch & Edwards, that he doesn't seem to be interested in talking about anything else. He's like a fish out of water.
ReplyDeleteIf Wimmer avoids trouble, he would replace Morgan Shepherd in the Top 30 and have a locked in spot for Talladega.
ReplyDeleteI was going to ask why don't they throw the red flag? I checked the guide. College Football Live coming up at 9pm her in LV.
ReplyDeletei was thinking the same thing Dot
ReplyDeleteDid they just show us the Hollywood Hotel?
ReplyDeleteJP can be funny without trying. Give them the one finger.
ReplyDeleteJD will Trackside still air at midnight if this race goes past Midnight?
ReplyDeleteWow, AB has ESPN.
ReplyDeletePoor JWT :(
ReplyDeleteReally wish with 15 to go, it had been a sprint to the finish. Red flag should have come out.
ReplyDelete@ Nrf, My guess is yes. And, I'll bet it was taped in the day.
ReplyDeleteThanks for reminding me, I set the DVR.
Despite the late hour here I agree about the red flag, this is silly and now a GWC finish
ReplyDeleteI hope it's nothing serious with Casey
ReplyDeleteI hope Casey will be OK. Think they'll put up the barriers now?
ReplyDeleteGee I guess Casey was hurt, I guess you need FOx when it comes to stuff like that, they seem to handle it better
ReplyDeleteThat's different, your crew chief throwing YOU under the bus.
ReplyDelete@ VickyD, what'd I miss? Recap please.
ReplyDeleteMcDowell!!!! That's Mikey's ally. Good move.
ReplyDeleteYay Biff.
Congratulations to Da Biff :).
ReplyDeleteAlready rolling credits.....wonder if they'll take time to talk to the winner
ReplyDeleteDot, Marc Reno was interviewed saying that on the previous caution, they told Mike Bliss NOT to come into pit road and he did anyway.
ReplyDeleteThat was tough to watch. Really a swing and a miss by the TV team.
ReplyDeleteJP can also be redundant. Third consecutive 3rd place finishes in a row for Brad K.
ReplyDeleteSo Greg needs to wait in the car because we need to see Carl walking in the DARK.
ReplyDeleteI'm torn I like Greg but I really do not like Jack. Why does his hat need strings like the cowgirl hat I had when I was 4?
And they off after 2 interviews :(
@ VickyD, thanks.
ReplyDeleteIt's daytime on Trackside.
It may be daytime at Trackside but it's O'dark thirty here and I'm off to sleep. See you all tomorrow. Hopefully we won't be as mad at Fox as we are at ESPN today
ReplyDeleteNRF laughed at your comment about Jack's hat. I have to say it again, terrible coverage and like you also said - why do we have to see Carl walking towards his hauler after the race. Really glad to see one of the two interviews was with Jason Leffler.
ReplyDeleteyes that was tough to hear Marc throw Bliss under the bus like that. And he felt they would have been in 2nd if Bliss hadn't come in.
ReplyDelete@nrf--yup because football couldn't wait 5 freakin' minutes! We have to wait and channel surf to try to figure out where the pre-race stuff is yet they can't take the time to give us a proper send off and interview a few other guys who we'll only accidentally hear from again in the future.
I think MRN must have picked up DW's notes for the weekend...left a social function & all they talked about was Kyle being 2 laps down...
ReplyDeleteWatched the last 30 laps...Reno made me LOL-#1 likes to fire drivers...do you think Bliss just lost a job.
The race coverage sucked. Except for AP & DJ.
ReplyDeleteAs always, lots of fun here. Thanks JD. Meet you guys back here tomorrow.
Before I go, I just saw that BSPN racing comml w/Richard Petty on SPEED channel. Never see a SPEED comml on BSPN.
NRFan
ReplyDeleteYour comment about the cowboy hat made me laugh. i wish we could post pics here. SOMEWHERE I have a picture of me a tiny tot with such a cowboy hat, lol.
:)
Pitiful showing on tv. I just emailed my brother at the race. Hope he reads his Blackberry tomorrow.
There is a new post up for your comments on the Nationwide Series race from Phoenix.
ReplyDeleteJD
