Live Blogging The Sunday TV From Talladega

Thanks to jayski.com and ESPN for the injured fan information update.

So, here we go! Marty Smith is on NASCAR Now to start the day from the track. Dale Jarrett and Andy Petree flew to Connecticut to appear in the ESPN studios with host Nicole Manske. It's pretty clear that Smith enjoys Talladega.

RaceDay on SPEED is always a party from the big track. John Roberts hosts two hours of chaos that includes Wendy Venturini and Hermie Sadler reporting live from the garage area. This is key to today's show because there is a 30 minute overlap between RaceDay and the NASCAR on Fox telecast. Why this happens each season is unclear.

Chris Myers starts the day for Fox from the Hollywood Hotel. He is joined by Jeff Hammond and Darrell Waltrip for the pre-race show. This extended show is supposed to have several features, including Hammond flying with Carl Edwards. No advance word on the Digger cartoon.

Veteran Mike Joy will call the action from the broadcast booth. He will be joined by Waltrip and Larry McReynolds. On pit road is the best crew on TV with Steve Byrnes, Matt Yocum, Dick Berggren and Krista Voda following the teams and drivers.

The field is full, the weather is great and the crowd is huge. This is a great recipe for Fox to recover from a tough outing in Phoenix. Keep an eye on the caution flag pitstop coverage which has been a problem this season.

This post will serve to host your comments about the Sunday TV from Talladega, including the pre-race shows. To add your TV-related comment, just click on the comments button below. This is a family-friendly website, please keep that in mind when posting.

Thanks for spending your NASCAR Sunday with The Daly Planet.

  1. Eury, Jr just now on the Sirius pre-race show laid blame on Jr missing his pit on his in-car reporting during the race. Said they had an organizational meeting about the promotional aspects interfering with race preparations.

    Why am I not buying that explanation? :)

    ReplyDelete
  2. I find it strange that ESPN chose to re-air the Katie Kenseth footage in the morning edition of NASCAR Now.

    They also did not promote the Cup race as being on Fox. Nice...

  3. @ bevo: I thought that's what I heard Jr. saying yesterday to the booth when they asked him about it. He said that normally on the pace laps drivers would do a visual check for their pit as they went by, but he didn't have a chance to do that. It sounded like he was placing the blame on being the in-race reporter, but it seemed to go right over their heads in the booth.

  5. Well at least NN didn't use the Clint/Mikey comment. Nicole's comment re "Katie upset", you think, come on guys.

    I will watch Raceday and DVR Fox and if there is enough time I'll actually watch it.

    ReplyDelete
  6. @allisong-

    I thought he said that during the race too but I wasn't sure.

    Wonder if Mr. Hendrick was in that meeting???

    ReplyDelete
  7. @nrf-

    Well according to Jamie she isn't just pregnant - she's "very pregnant".

    ReplyDelete
  8. Bevo, yes that's what Jamie was heard to say about poor Katie. I realize being 7 months along as opposed to 3 months along is different but c'mon Jamie. I was just glad the car landed on the tires and Matt was able to get out ok. We are just watching Raceday and so many folks at the track already!

    ReplyDelete
  9. I wonder what Clint's going to say today if they interview him on Raceday.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Points for David Ragan, he took off his sunglasses.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Per Sirius : Hornish is sick getting an IV. Looking to start but have Kvapil on stand-by.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Sorry - MRN Inside Track on Sirius

    ReplyDelete
  13. Guess what - we will see Katie Kenseth again during the pre-race show, I guarantee it. At some point (and it may be pre-race, it may be during the race) they are going to show Matt's flip-over from yesterday, and when they do they are simply going to roll the footage from Saturday, which already has the Katie Kenseth shot cut into it. They are NOT going to re-cut that clip, I guarantee you. They didn't recut it for NASCAR.com and I will be $1,000 that at whatever point they re-show the Kenseth crash, they will re-show that clip of Katie just as they did live when it happened. NO CHANCE they re-edit.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Anon 1224. RaceDay already showed the clip, guess what NO Katie

    ReplyDelete
  15. JD, this is OT but, I accidentally caught TWL last night.

    I missed the replay of Kenseth's crash. Kudos to SPEED for cutting that part out.

    ReplyDelete
  16. annon, I will send you my address for the $1000. Thanks.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Bryan,

    I think you have to split it with the webmaster. Internet rules.

    JD

    ReplyDelete
  18. Well, I am talking not about RaceDay, but about FOX. FOX will have to get the clip supplied from ESPN, and I am still betting that we will see the clip of Katie Kenseth walking away in tears. But why do I have a feeling all you suddenly eager to bet me wont pay up. :)

    ReplyDelete
  19. ESPN.com cut the Katie stuff on the recap.

    MRN just interviewed Kvapil. They're making changes to the seat so it looks like Hornish will do a few laps then get out.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Anon,

    Even my local TV station here in South Florida edited that clip before airing.

    If Fox uses it, they will get exactly the same comments from the fans and TDP that ESPN did.

    This is about taste, class and decency...not about TV networks.

    JD

    ReplyDelete
  21. Anyone else besides me think it's tacky of Lowe's to be offering $ amount seats equal to the number of cars involved in the "big one" today?

    ReplyDelete
  22. This just in from Twitter:

    'Bama head coach Nick Saban, Connie Chung, Maury Povich, Miss America Katie Stam, UFC's Chuck Liddell spotted in drivers' meeting.

    Maury and Connie big NASCAR fans? Who knew?

    JD

  23. Papis has the flu? hope it isnt the swine flu breaking out all over the place

    ReplyDelete
  24. Bill, it's Hornish and Travis Kvapil is stepping in. No swine reports...

    ReplyDelete
  25. Here we go folks, Fox coming on the air.

    ReplyDelete
  26. JD,

    Any word if Saban was chewing a football during the meeting? :)

    ReplyDelete
  27. JD I'm thinking drivers/teams need to have those waterless hand cleansers strategically located or this one is going to spread like that sinus infection that was all over during and after Daytona. Sorry this nurse notices that stuff

    ReplyDelete
  28. So far, we have the Tennis Channel Chris Myers and not the goofball Fox version. Nice start.

    ReplyDelete
  29. New picture on the main page of Ms. Sprint and Chris Myers.

    Thanks to Monica for her photo skills.

    JD

    ReplyDelete
  30. Is Rick H at the track today?

    ReplyDelete
  31. Is it just me or does Chris Myers bite

    ReplyDelete
  32. It's Digger time. Glad Raceday is still on.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Digger = more FF space since I'm watching Raceday

    ReplyDelete
  34. Thanks for the Digger update, I'll keep watching Raceday

    ReplyDelete
  35. ESPN played a couple of replays of the kenseth wreck without Katie so that is what FOX SHOULD use. That is what Raceday did.

    ReplyDelete
  36. bevo, you're so right. How many other drivers have been the in race reporter and not missed their pits? Jr wasn't the in race reporter when he missed his pit at the other race. There's something going on with Jr and his team but no one is going to say what. Maybe Teresa Earnhardt had it right during her Wall Street Journal interview where she said Jr needs to decide whether he wants to be a race car driver or a celebrity.

    Tacky of ESPN to run the Katie Kenseth video. Just adds to their penchant for over-sensationalizing everything. After all, Sweeps have started.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Looks like the Hendrick drivers got a razor sponsor or something :)

    ReplyDelete
  38. Anyone know where I can find a stream online for MRN?

    ReplyDelete
  39. Hey JD I just got the commercial count down audio guess someone's mic was hot

    ReplyDelete
  40. Any idea why Fox has decided to go to an outside location for the live hit for Mike and Larry the last two weeks?

    ReplyDelete
  41. Nice piece by Larry Mc on the history of Talladega

    ReplyDelete
  42. J. D.,

    After the crash, did you see Kenseth take off his helmet and go back into the car to get a ballcap so he could be photographed in a ballcap? That's when I knew he was okay after all those flips.

    West Coast Kenny
    Alameda, California

    ReplyDelete
  43. They did the commercial countdown on purpose

    ReplyDelete
  44. Krista needs to take Jamie Little and Shannon Spake aside and teach them how to be a reporter.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Larry Mac's segment was great on history of 'dega. The weather looked fantastic. There they are bringing up Danica again.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I'd rather watch Digger than Shruba Duba.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Someone had the guts to say Danica wouldn't do well in Nascar

    ReplyDelete
  48. @ darbar, Roommate said the same thing.

    ReplyDelete
  49. This pre-race getting anyone fired up?

    ReplyDelete
  50. Didn't listen to Shrub-did I miss anything? Had to let the dog out...

    ReplyDelete
  51. Oh Yeah, JD. That chicken dance really got me fired up. I wonder how many PETA people were there picketing the race?

    ReplyDelete
  52. Not really JD. It's a pretty nice day here..I might have to miss some of this race.
    Okay, the crown on this babe just looks silly.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Too long a pre-race and ive only watched the last 30 minutes...

    ReplyDelete
  54. JD Raceday always gets me excited, am behind on Fox but it's really all about timing the personal pit stop now, excited not so much. Liked the Larry Mac piece though.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Geez... just sing the song the way it was written

    ReplyDelete
  56. That tiara has got to go and unfortunately, we had to mute the anthem.

    ReplyDelete
  57. I'm sorry, but I get so sick and tired of these singers trying to jazz up the Anthem. You never see them do that to Oh Canada. Sing it like it's supposed to be sung, darn it !!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  58. JD, do you know how Direct TV decides who will be the Hot Pass drivers? It's the same guys almost every week. Does Hendrick Racing own a lot of stock in Direct TV?

    ReplyDelete
  59. Is it unAmerican to mute the anthem?

    ReplyDelete
  60. hey gang! ok, i'm ready to go: laptop has TDP and the leaderboard from nascar (boycotting fox from now on out!), fox tv but on mute and the radio is on instead, a variety of sites loaded.

    AND my phillies are up 4-1 against jd's marlins!

    what more could i want?
    be safe, race hard and have fun!

    (and the guys are outside the booth at the start again today -- what's up with that?)

    ReplyDelete
  61. No clue Dar, the DirecTV guys are a mess right now.

    ReplyDelete
  62. @ bevo, thanks. I feel better.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Red, what more can I want? The Rangers to kick the Cap's behinds.

    ReplyDelete
  64. I wonder if Hornish will stay in the car the entire race. Kvapil is standing by!

    ReplyDelete
  65. @darbar: i am SO there with you! been a rangers fan since 1962, altho' i boycotted the year they signed "soft head" (lindros) and gave the flyers too much in return for him.

    ReplyDelete
  66. @VickyD-

    Doubt it. While they were talking to Kvapil on MRN the crew was adding pads to the seat for him

    ReplyDelete
  67. WOW ..71 comments to read.

    What's UP with Jeff Gordon's back? Keeps mentioning it...how did he hurt his back..never heard this last year

    ReplyDelete
  68. I have a new respect for Sam H. Anyone who can get in a car with the flu.....

    ReplyDelete
  69. @darbar-

    DirecTV had a great thing going with HotPass. They said it was a money issue but I think Fox/ESPN put some heat on NASCAR to phase it out. The announcers ran circles around the network feed.

    ReplyDelete
  70. PammH YES about the money for the big one.

    TACKY..sigh

    ReplyDelete
  71. Today is another example of that has something to do with lower TV ratings. Look at any set of listings, and it says 1:00p.m. "NASCAR Racing"....nothing about there being a pre-race show, etc. and 80 minutes later, still waiting for the green flag. The casual viewer who isn't aware of when the green flag will wave who tunes in at 1p.m. is going to give up on waiting for the race to start.

    ReplyDelete
  72. really DONT like that s/f line camera angle.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Sigh...ALREADY OVERUSE of in car cams.

    NOT HAPPY

    :(

    ReplyDelete
  74. FYI - Sirius has added a NASCAR Officials channel for today (126)

    ReplyDelete
  75. If Sirius was available online, it would change the sport.

    ReplyDelete
  76. I'm getting dizzy watching the ticker.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Oh please...I love Jr but I still think they turn UP the volume for his lead..we never hear 'the crowd other times'.

    Yes I know they yell for him and I would, too...it's Dega after all. :)

    This in car cam is really annoying.

    Who wants to bet the "First incident" will be MISSED due to in car or bumper cam.

    cranky sophia

    SEE, I TOLD YOU. BUMPER CAM AND MISSED THE LIVE WRECK
    WTH

    !&#^!(*#^!*&#^!*(&#^(*&#^#*&

    ReplyDelete
  78. Agree JD, Moody said a few months ago that they were still talking to NASCAR about it. My guess is NASCAR wants more money - if you can imagine that :)

    ReplyDelete
  79. Daly Planet Editor said...
    Kyle and Tony went to the back..

    and that suddenly looks like a brilliant move right now!

    ReplyDelete
  80. Who's Matt going to blame now?

    ReplyDelete
  81. JD I agree. My sirius receiver is broken lol.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Officials had been looking at Mayfield a few laps ago.

    ReplyDelete
  83. not bad kenseth, and everyone worries about the rookies lol what a joke

    ReplyDelete
  84. for anyone who said the cot wouldnt have a big one, there ya go

    ReplyDelete
  85. so, given the size of that mess, wouldn't a red flag be called for? i know it's a big track but there's some serious junk up there in that high groove.

    ReplyDelete
  86. product of plate racing. Gordon had a massive push from Kurt and Matt committed low until the last moment.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Holy Crap. On the first lap !!!

    ReplyDelete
  88. Starting off like an ARCA race at Dega or Pocono. Ouch :(

    HOW MANY involved? 17

    Jeff's back is really gonna hurt now...this is so sad so early.

    ReplyDelete
  89. J.D.,

    Sirius.com says you can listen online.

    I saw the wreck realtime on HotPass, as they widened out from an overhead on Junior's channel. I'll miss HotPass as I'm moving to an apt. which includes Comcast as part of the rent.

    I wish I could see HotPass online legally.

    WCK

    ReplyDelete
  90. This is why I don't like the plate races. Hope Dot's favorite is still out there . . . .

    ReplyDelete
  91. SIRIUS charges extra to listen online now and also 128 is NOT available online

    ReplyDelete
  92. anyone know if reuti made it through? i couldnt tell

    ReplyDelete
  93. Good camera work on all of the replays

    ReplyDelete
  94. Ken,

    Sirius NASCAR content is not. All NASCAR online content is owned by Turner (NASCAR.com)

    JD

    ReplyDelete
  95. The reason Sirius NASCAR isn't streamed is because Turner owns all of the internet rights and Turner hasn't been willing to sign-off on allowing Sirius to stream the channel. Might be something NASCAR should look at putting into the contract the next time the internet rights come up for renewal.

    ReplyDelete
  96. Reuti's name wasn't on the list

    ReplyDelete
  97. @ VickyD, Marcos made it through. Thank you.

    ReplyDelete
  98. thanks for the jinx Larry Mac.

    *sigh*

    ReplyDelete
  99. Cars involved by number:

    07, 2, 5, 9, 13, 19, 24, 26, 29, 33, 36, 44, 71, 96

    Those with some damage included Edwards and Kyle Busch

    ReplyDelete
  100. J.D.,

    Thanks for the correction. i would be cheesed off to find subscribe and find out I couldn't stream the drivers's channels.

    WCK

    ReplyDelete
  101. Amazing they have not said anything about Kyle.

    ReplyDelete
  102. Jay Hart on Yahoo.com says:

    Jay Hart: Nine cars are off the track: J. Gordon, Gilliland, Riggs, Martin, Harvick, McMurray, Kahne, Allmendinger, Bowyer.

    WCK

    ReplyDelete
  103. why dont these guys just run single file for a bit? theyre gonna wreck again racing like this

    ReplyDelete
  104. Battle for the lead, let's go to comml.

    ReplyDelete
  105. Interesting about Hamlin giving Logano bump drafting lessons during yesterday's race. Looks like RAGAN didn't learn his lesson from yesterday.

    ReplyDelete
  106. Does anyone else get tired of hearing the comment "my team will work really hard" getting the car back in the race. They passed Logano like he was standing still but he'll be back up.

    ReplyDelete
  107. Man, I hate this friggin' rain. Four inches yesterday and now it's messing with my DTV signal today.

    ReplyDelete
  108. Going to get some KFC. Can I get anybody anything?

    I wish I could pause the comments like I can pause the race.

    ReplyDelete
  109. Darbar

    hot and sunny and sometime cloud in Ohio..losing on the HD tv too..have to keep second tv on or miss several seconds

    ReplyDelete
  110. @Dot

    I'd like two legs, mashed potatoes and gravy and green beans.

    since you asked :)

    ReplyDelete
  111. Why have the DTV feed with driver audio when you can't hear what they're saying because they don't mute the Fox guys??????

    ReplyDelete
  112. surprised to hear that from the alwyas professional Joy "beat the crap out of each other..."

    ReplyDelete
  113. Dot wait till tomorrow and you get free chicken !!

    ReplyDelete
  114. Is anyone hearing an electronic vibration/squawk sound?

    WCK

    ReplyDelete
  115. Obviously the Cat car has a not-so-quick disconnect on their battery :)

    ReplyDelete
  116. @bevo--I'll buy that explanation as soon as all the other in-car reporters start missing their pits. And what was the reason when Jr. missed his pits before when he wasn't an in-car reporter?

    Please tell me that you are joking JD? Why on earth would they feel it's "appropriate" to replay that? UGH! I'm glad others had some common sense to cut it out in their airing!

    ReplyDelete
  117. Jr missing his pits on a GREEN flag stop because he was an in-car reporter? what?! Was he planning to do play by play or something?

    ReplyDelete
  118. @Gymmie-
    It's the latest excuse, don't doubt there was indeed a meeting but methinks something else was the focus ;)

    ReplyDelete
  119. Kenn we are hearing that squawk sound on our Hotpass too. Very irritating.

    ReplyDelete
  120. This comment has been removed by the author.

    ReplyDelete
  121. It's going to be a wild Monday if Mikey wins this thing.

    ReplyDelete
  122. David they squeezed the restart in at the last second.

    ReplyDelete
  123. No vicky did you notice the restart, then they cut to Mikey who by some miracle was already halfway down the backstretch....

    ReplyDelete
  124. the flow of this race isn't happening for me: too many quick cuts from in-car to long shot to side cam to a series of in-cars. too choppy.

    and the front of the 55 certainly is vibrating big time on the in-car camera.

    ReplyDelete
  125. Did anyone else notice Fox pretending they didn't miss the restart? They show all the cars come out of the tri-oval and take the green flag. The next shot is The leader entering turn 3. The field should have just been exiting turn 2...

    ReplyDelete
  126. The TV crew needs to get some momentum back. That big crash really took the wind out of this race's sails.

    ReplyDelete
  127. man jr almost wrecked johnson

    ReplyDelete
  128. Even the announcers do not like all these in-car shots. Talk about losing perspective.

    ReplyDelete

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    I SO AGREE!!
    FOX REFUSES to give us good racing. It's VERY DISCONCERTING the in car cams bouncing around.
    WOW..good save Mikey. WOW!
    ReplyDelete
  130. You were saying JD?? :)
    00 gets free pass
    ReplyDelete
  131. i have a question. kahne is showing in 43rd place and he was one of the cars in that lap 8 mess. how, exactly, is the order set for the cars who are involved in that sort of wreck? does nascar wait until the team says they're done and then set the order?
    and THAT was one amazing save by waltrip!
    ReplyDelete
  132. J.D.,
    "This Week In NASCAR" should be good on Monday!
    WCK
    ReplyDelete
  133. @bevo--definitely agreed!
    Great save for Mikey! :)
    ReplyDelete
  134. I think we have found another part of wall that needs a safer barrier. That could have been disastrous.
    ReplyDelete
  135. Agree about the in-car shots. This is one of the tracks were if you just keep a few tight shots and the rest all wide you'll cover plenty of racing.
    ReplyDelete
  136. scoring after a wreck reverts to the running order lap prior
    ReplyDelete
  137. @Brian 3:10,
    you know i was wondering about that. I'm watching raceview, which is usually always well behind TV, and the field was off 2 as FOX showed the green, whic made me wonder why TV was so far behind for once...
    ReplyDelete
  138. David said...
    scoring after a wreck reverts to the running order lap prior
    i think i understand, david. in this case, then, does that mean that, of all the cars out as a result of the wreck, the 9 car was behind all the others at the time they crossed the last scoring loop before the wreck?
    ReplyDelete
  139. BTW on that last restart they did do some kind of time shift. Been about a 15 second difference on Sirius with Fox and all of a sudden they had green flags at the same time. 15 second difference returned after that.
    ReplyDelete
  140. TALLADEGA BEGS FOR A MIKE WELLS DIRECTING SHOW!!!!!!!!!!
    :(
    We get crap camera work instead.
    YET another BUMPER CAM? WTH?
    ReplyDelete
  141. @red-
    Last scoring loop on the track.
    ReplyDelete
  142. They time-shifted the green flag and then cut live to the field...interesting.
    ReplyDelete
  143. David - thanks for the update on restart hubby insisted we didn't miss it but I was sure we did. I had to take a little break from all this speed. Nice save by Mikey.
    ReplyDelete
  144. @red - Last time across the start/finish line, not last scoring loop.
    ReplyDelete
  145. thanks bevo and david. another question answered by TDPlaneteers!
    ReplyDelete
  146. do the tech stuff during yellow flags!
    ReplyDelete
  147. @bevo - Last scoring loop determines position at the time of caution. In the case of an accident, it's position at start/finish on prior lap.
    ReplyDelete
  148. and there's a basic flaw by fox that happens time and again: the tech explanation in the big screen and green flag racing in the smaller screen. that should be reversed.
    ReplyDelete
  149. @Martin Vincent-
    Thanks - makes more sense since that was the last official scoring now that I think about it
    ReplyDelete
  150. Guys, you should listen to Sam Hornish on his in car radio. He's sick and said he's hurting everywhere, and his kidney's killing him. His crew chief told him to let 'er rip, no one cares if he needs to dump his bladder. They need Travis in that car right now.
    ReplyDelete
  151. They should have pulled Hornish out during the wreck caution laps
    ReplyDelete
  152. @darbar: if hornish dumps it, i certainly wouldn't want to be kvapil, climbing in after THAT! i've been wondering why they haven't pulled sam out yet -- there's been plenty of opportunity to do so.
    and here's yet another chance to get a relief driver in there.
    ReplyDelete
  153. Another nice save. Something must be going on with that part of the track
    ReplyDelete
  154. More great camera angles on the replays
    ReplyDelete
  155. red, bad news for the Rangers. Man, I can't stand that Ovenchicken
    copy that! but the phillies just won 13-2 so all is not lost!
    ReplyDelete
  160. Hey guys I'm back. Go tomorrow and get your free piece of chicken. Good stuff.
    Got back in time to see Mikey's wild ride w/o flipping. Roommate didn't pause race.
    I agree about big box/small box should be reversed. It should be all about the racing regardless what's going on on the track.
    @ WCK, too funny.
    ReplyDelete
  161. I absolutely cannot stand that BK commercial. If that King isn't creepy enough, the square butts thing is way out of line
  163. Did I miss the explanation of why Vickers and Hamlin weren't penalized for going below the yellow line?
    ReplyDelete
  164. Officials warning 83 crew chief that his last pass was too close to the line. Said to tell him they are serious.
  165. bevo, I'm a Pens fan and would rather play anyone but the Caps. Does Avery have a screw loose or what? And the Ranger's coach is suspended.
  166. Wishy washy NASCAR. A rule is a rule. But hey, depending on who it is.
  167. texasracelady: ask and you shall receive: nascar reviewed, warning to vickers but no penalty. no mention of hamlin. (i thought drivers were given their warning at the drivers meeting? guess hoots meant this is your pre-race warning; you'll get another one during the race?)
    JD,
    Is there a contractual amount of time they have to use the in-car cameras for the sponsors of them?
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    TOO *&^! MUCH TIME

    :)

    we just heard about Vickers..if only guys reading the blog was the camera director..too arrogant to give US what we want.

    IN CAR CAM on Kurt's spin..did y'all notice?

    Caws and Jaws ADD UP INCAR CAMS? Robbing us of the race.

    I need something to eat...too cranky for myself.

  171. and again: live action in the small screen and replay in the larger screen.
    it's called "bass-ackwards," fox guys! and it's easy to fix and you COULD get it right the next time during this same race -- if you wanted to.

  172. Thanks, bevo and red. Guess I just didn't hear it. *sigh*

    ReplyDelete
  173. @dot: all the good ones were taken by the time they got to pick.

    ReplyDelete
  174. Not really, they always get plenty of exposure. If you remember last season, we also went nuts because they used a ton more in-car.

    This is actually an improvement.

    ReplyDelete
  175. @ red, Yeah, they mentioned that after I hit send. Thanks though. Planeteer keeping us informed.

  176. @darbar-
    Pens will be fine, you've got Billy G on your team. :)

    Love me some Billy G - miss him down here.

  177. Uh oh, Matt's behind Marcos. Caution during comml involving those two?

    ReplyDelete
  178. I was listening to the Officials channel on Sirius.

    ReplyDelete
  179. Never mind, Matt's in front of him now.

  180. I had to clean my glasses --- wide camera shots showing the field running through the turns.

    Dang!

  181. Hey Red,

    How bad did my Marlins pound the Fillys?

    JD

    ReplyDelete
  182. Red, don't know if you follow the 76'ers but they're probably going to kick my Magic out of the playoffs tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  183. Thanks JD. Always wondered about that but forgot to ask you.

  185. @karen: sixers and pro basketball in general do nothing for me. only follow two philly teams: phillies and eagles. (and will also follow the women's pro soccer team when it gets going!)
