Live Blogging Camping World Trucks From Nashville, TN (SPEED - 8:30PM ET)
The trucks are running a one-day show from Nashville Superspeedway on SPEED.
Krista Voda is hosting the pre-race show with Ray Dunlap and Adam Alexander reporting. Rick Allen will be in the broadcast booth with Michael Waltrip and Phil Parsons.
This is the standard truck series TV from SPEED that has been crowd pleasing for several seasons. Expect good coverage of the actual racing after a straightforward pre-race show.
There are lots of new drivers in the field since this is a stand-alone event and SPEED should have many good stories to follow before, during and after the race.
This post will serve to host your comments on the SPEED coverage of the Camping World Trucks from Nashville. To add your TV-related opinion, just click on the comments button below. This is a family-friendly website, please keep that in mind when posting. Thanks for taking the time to stop by The Daly Planet.
Long day of racing! Anyone still around for Trucks??
ReplyDeleteHappy Pick 'em Ups racin' Planeteers <3
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed the Rolex race and now for Pick 'em Ups action :)
Tummy's all full of noms
Good evening, everyone!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to the truck race.
Hope it's our "normal" race coverage. :)
Me too, the last one was awful!
ReplyDeleteSo far I'm hanging in. I don't know if I can survive Mikey at full blast though.
ReplyDeleteFascinating that I followed Grand Am online with MRN for free, but still searching for Truck race since not where I can watch TV.
ReplyDeleteExcellent pre-race.
ReplyDeleteHope this is a better broadcast than the April Nashville race. That one was probably one of the poorest the SPEED truck crew ever had. Since that Nashville race was a "replacement" on the schedule it seemed like they went through the motions that night. Here's to a better broadcast this evening.
ReplyDeleteThat's probably the most interesting invocation I've ever heard. Almost sounded like a satirical invocation.
ReplyDeleteNow THAT was a prayer.
ReplyDeleteThat wasn't too over the top, was it?
ReplyDeleteNice anthem though.
Nice anthem. A couple shakey moments, but in general well done!
ReplyDeletehey gang. well that was one rousing invocation. worked himself into a right big lather, didn't he?
ReplyDeleterichard in nc: there is an online site but i'd rather not drop the info here on TDP. i'll post it on twitter if you'd like?
ReplyDeleteWaaay too late for me, even in EDT time zone & a wk-end. I am taping & will watch Sunday to see who wins. Besides, MW is there-not for me...:(
ReplyDeleteIts been a long day of TV. Gonna watch Trucks, and NFL HOF waiting on Emmitt - Jerry Rice speaking now. Love needing 2 TV s
ReplyDeleteah no! carmichael gets one of tonight's two "kisses of death": in-race reporter. bleech.
ReplyDeleteNot a good start for my new fav driver!
ReplyDeleteThats real bad luck. I was just gonna say how great the trucks looked under the lights. Stinks for both of them.
ReplyDeleteWas eating dinner, so I couldn't post until now...
ReplyDeleteI think that was the most enthusiastic invocation ever! Maybe the preacher should be doing play by play!!
Nice anthem. The gal singer had a high voice, yet she did not hurt my ears like the Nationwide race singer!
Shoot! wreck so early!!
Johanna Long is officially out. Wah.
ReplyDeleteDoes Nashville just have that one grandstand or is there others? From the tv, it looks like only one smallish grandstand.
ReplyDeleteJust the frontstretch!
ReplyDeleteI have no idea what any producer sees in Micheal Waltrip. He is ungodly annoying.
ReplyDeleteDid you see "Fast Track to Fame?" Now, that was annoying.
ReplyDeleteThey have one big grandstand for reserve seating. They do have 3 or 4 smaller sets of bleachers coming off turn 4 for general admission or sponsor freebies and promotional tixs.
ReplyDeleteDisregard, I don't see the freebie bleachers like they had a couple of years ago when I was there for a truck race.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the info on Nashville track RWar24.
ReplyDeleteI am loosing interest in the race. I think it is because of Mikey - and I am not a Mikey hater. The booth is just turning me off, and I have always been fine with Rick and Phil.
ReplyDeleteSo I just might post some photos to facebook and do some digital scrapbooking and then go watch the last 10 laps of the race.....
I honestly believe Nascar has the worst announcers in all of racing. You listen to the BBC for F1 and its incredible how poor these people are.
ReplyDeleteRick and Phil were doing just fine for a long time. Mikey got added late. No clue why two drivers are needed in the booth. Should have picked up a former crew chief.
ReplyDeleteThe problem now, though, is if they did go down to 2 drivers, it's Phil being removed, not Michael. I sort of wonder if Michael being on these broadcasts is tied into Aaron's sponsorship of the broadcasts and the lucky dogs. One of those things where they'd sponsor such things if the driver they're sponsoring is in the booth.
ReplyDeleteHey everyone! Yeah I think Mikey brings down the broadcast. I like Rick Allen, he called one heck of a K&N Pro Series race on Thursday on Speed sure it was taped but the racing was off the charts!!!! JD did you get to watch that race? Tonight this race is ok a lot of cautions
ReplyDeleteGeez! Mikey is so busy yappin away that the booth monkeys don't even realize that there has been a wreck!! At first they think the caution is for the spin. Sheesh!!!
ReplyDeleteGonna be interesting to see if NASCAR's new "have at it, boys" policy extends to throwing things after being wrecked and what kind of fine Mario gets....
Rick and Phil were calling the race on Thursday JD and it was soo much better no Mikey to deal with! I love Mikey but no good for a pxp man
ReplyDeletecome on Skinner!!!
ReplyDeleteI feel Mikey is enthusiastic for Nascar but sometimes he doesn't know when to just stop yakking and watch the race!
ReplyDeleteMike, they first brought him on before all his ownership stuff and before he retired.
ReplyDeleteI really cannot believe that Doug Richert or someone with a crew chief perspective is not in the booth.
As far as Phil, he has been there since SPEED got the series. He has a tremendous knowledge and his business deals are not with the trucks.
I think it's it in Mikey's contract that he gets paid by the word.
ReplyDeletenice some great racing on are only oval of the weekend woooo
ReplyDeleteI turned it on with 40 laps to go and Mikey has already made me want to turnthe Tv off. Can't believe they can't see how many viewers he is running off.
ReplyDeleteIs it just me - or has MW not shut up in the last 20 laps?
ReplyDeleteCongrats Todd Bodine!
Good night for racing. Rough night for Mikey! Whew.
ReplyDeleteThe recent controversies seem to have suddenly stopped the GWC finishes. Almost like NA$CAR is trying to keep a low profile.
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone! Long day of racing. Get some sleep and we will be back at it tomorrow for the 1PM race from The Glen!
ReplyDeleteHave a great night folks!
red, thank you - but I rec'd a flurry of e-mails, got involved answering, and forgot all about the race. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteI think we should give more props to ESPN for its little NASCAR commercial blurbs. I like the one for the nationwide series where the father makes the inappropriate reception dinner toast to Steve Wallace.
ReplyDeleteMarty Reed out of NOWHERE .....
