Live Blogging Sprint Cup Series From Darlington (FOX - 7PM ET)
There are only four races left in the NASCAR on FOX television package for this season. After the next race in Dover, FOX takes a break for the All-Star race.
Darlington is a grind. Drivers tend to race the track and pass carefully. Now aero-sensitive as well, the old bump and run style is long gone from this historic track. Inches from the wall, drivers settle into a rhythm between stops for tires and fuel.
As television viewers discovered from the ESPN2 coverage of the Friday night Nationwide Series race, perspective is everything. Unless there is the ability to see cars in relationship to one another, Darlington race coverage can quickly look like practice.
This racing is different. Drivers pray through the corners, try to get a run down the straight and then get the pass completed before the entry of the next corner. He who is on the lowside heading into the turn normally wins.
This season FOX has chosen hype and drama as the theme of the coverage. While Darrell Waltrip rambles on from the TV booth, the director shows pictures of one or perhaps two cars shot as tightly as possible. Then, the coverage hops to another car and Waltrip begins to talk again.
This week, Waltrip will once again be with Chris Myers and Jeff Hammond on the pre-race stage to begin the coverage. This outdoor show has served to allow Waltrip to dominate the conversation from start to finish. His "Revved Up" segment allows him to tell adult fans what to think. He actually expresses anger with those who have opinions other than his.
Hammond is so far in the backseat this season he might as well mail it in. Rarely heard from once the racing begins, Hammond is not featured at the cutaway car, does not get questions from Mike Joy in the booth and is basically MIA after the green flag.
Larry McReynolds has been working on TV for a long time and this season has brought some very interesting twists. With his NASCAR Performance show now recorded during the week, his removal from the popular Trackside series and the ending of his signature "Reach up and pull those belts tight" phrase, you have to wonder what his future holds with FOX and SPEED.
Steve Byrnes, Matt Yocum, Krista Voda and Dick Berggren should have an interesting night. Darlington mandates four tires with a fuel stop and this season has seen few caution flags. If the race strings-out to single file running, there might not be a whole lot to talk about from pit road.
Expect the Ryan Newman and Juan Montoya story to pop-up in the pre-race show. One item to look for is how FOX handles the denial by JD Gibbs of the item reported by Waltrip last week. That was the apparently fake story about a pending crew chief swap between the 20 and 11 teams.
The sun will go down about 20 minutes after the race starts, so there should be a nice transition to pictures under the lights. At this track, low-angle speed shots and aerial views can serve to relay the perspective of the actual speed of the cars. That is a challenge as the mid-race portion of the event starts to drag.
Tonight has all the parts to be an outstanding event on the track and on TV. With Dover pending, a strong performance tonight in primetime would be a good way to get sports viewers back to NASCAR and focused on the stories of the season.
This post will serve to host your TV-related comments on the FOX coverage of the Sprint Cup Series race from Darlington, SC. To add your opinion, just click on the comments button below. This is a family-friendly website, please keep that in mind when posting. Thanks for stopping by.
Happy Race Evening Planeteers <3
ReplyDeleteHiya G!
ReplyDeleteIf we could get coverage of the race as good as I just watched with the Kentucky Derby, I would be a happy fellow.
ReplyDeleteNASCAR on FOX just said the pre-race will focus on "the feud" between JPM and Newman.
ReplyDeleteI'm ready for some racing!
ReplyDeleteHappy early Mother's Day to all the Moms! I see Fox's script is the Newman/Montoya, guess we'll here a lot during the race broadcast. Both Newman & Montoya are being closed mouth on this Nascar meeting either. I'm already tired of this!
ReplyDeleteThey really are running the "feud" into the ground. I know 2 drivers that will get plenty of exposure tonight.
ReplyDeleteThe hyping of the JPM/Newman kefuffle is assinine. Nascar said that both would be watched closely. That didn't stop DW. Two minutes into the Speed Prerace activities,'Ol Durrl said we might see sparks fly tonight. Hopefully, they'll focus on the racing tonight. Not likely....but I'm hoping.
ReplyDeleteAfter 10 years, FOX discovers scanners....
ReplyDeleteThat in-car audio recap might be one of the best items Fox has aired.
ReplyDeleteNASCAR tried to say punches were thrown in the trailer during a meeting of those two.
ReplyDeleteSeen that one before....remember?
And it is such a treat for us to hear the scanners.
ReplyDeleteAnd how many times during the broadcast are we going to see last week Montoya spin Newman?
ReplyDeleteNASCAR wants the drama
ReplyDeleteYep, DW is going to talk to Newman next.
ReplyDeleteArgh...
NASCAR NEEDS the drama
ReplyDeleteIn that last break, no commercials here. Just the Fox Sports logo on the screen the whole time.
ReplyDeleteDumbest thing that little JPM could do would be to take a swing at "no-neck' Newman!
ReplyDeleteWhat are you watching on Charlie?
ReplyDeletehi JD!
ReplyDeleteWish they'd talk to Moms instead of hyping on stuff.
I am watching on Charter Cable but the town we get HD signal from is new to HD and I bet they forgot to throw a switch.
ReplyDeleteI bet you are right on that one!
ReplyDeleteHey Gymmie,
ReplyDeleteIt looks like Fox granted you your wish with Mamma Bowyer.
Commercials are on now so all fixed.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful night in Darlington
ReplyDeleteI wonder if we'll have a Carl Mom interview too.
ReplyDeleteThat's the girl that was on The Bachelor, right?
ReplyDeleteHi Anon 7:22 :). Clint's mom seems nice :)
ReplyDelete*giggles* JD
That pre-race show was like Chinese food.
ReplyDeleteThat is insulting to Chinese food JD
ReplyDeleteBoy, I hate to say this about a military man, but he doesn't have the voice for this song...:(
ReplyDeleteGood point. Hope we get some racing and not just single file aero runs.
ReplyDeleteComp caution lap 40.
any as to why the comp caution?? did it rain today?
ReplyDeletePammH song
ReplyDeleteI was stunned, STUNNED at the anthem :(
In lieu of the past week & being a military person...holy mackerel.
YIKES on the anthem :(. Wanted to give props due to the military but man that was OUCH!
ReplyDeleteThey were on a roll, but that just did not work out. I was hoping someone's mom would sing it.
ReplyDeleteThe comp caution is supposedly to check tire wear at the end of the first fuel run.
Supposedly...
I don't think any of the Mom's in attendance liked the anthem either.
ReplyDeleteIf what you are saying about the anthem was true, a better choice would have been Sgt Bob Timney. He sang the anthem for all but one of the Pittsburgh Penguins home playoff games.
ReplyDeleteThere we go! Jeff Hammond and the block of wood! He must have watched Tim Brewer last night! It's in their DNA. They think there must be SOMEONE out there who hasn't heard about the block of wood! Boneheads!
ReplyDeleteAnon at 7:39 - I'm surprised that wood isn't eaten up by termites for how many years we've been shown it by TB & JH.
ReplyDeleteI was laughing when I saw that. Same block of TV wood just getting passed around.
ReplyDeleteJust like last week the screaming music over the voices of the pit reporters.
ReplyDeleteHammond did NOT get his block of wood from Tim Brewer. Hollywood Jeff got his block of wood from inside his head. He's got more cuz he has a really BIG head. Ask anybody.
ReplyDeleteUgh who's idea was that with the fourteen crew?
ReplyDeleteIt certainly did not work out. Looked awful.
ReplyDeleteCouldn't you just widen out to show the top 4 instead of using a double box?
ReplyDeleteOoops! Hyper-tight coverage. Sorry
These guys do not have a freaking clue.
ReplyDeleteHi all! Just got in - gonna try & watch entire race tonight.
ReplyDeleteI saw that to. How sad to have a box for 1st and 2nd and another box for 3rd and 4th. Zoom out would have worked and only one camera man would have been needed.
ReplyDeleteBest TV Commercial EVER. Miss Turkey Rocks. I want one.
ReplyDeleteNo over-the-air radio in my area with the race on a Saturday night so just checking in the coverage live until the Preds and Canucks drop the puck. This looks bad already...pulling away from a potential pass for the lead, Joy already sounding tired...same ol' same ol'. Will watch the bulk of the race off my DVR.
ReplyDeleteDarlington deserves better...just wish I had put even more on Animal Kingdom so I could buy NASCAR, put JD in charge, and put an end to this travesty.
Mute button operable ...MRN on preset ...can't hear word FOX is broadcasting ...gonna stay that way tonight ...picked up Denny on HotPass ...FOX likely to miss another good race ...maybe someone needs to tell them their is a race tonight with 43 cars, not 2
ReplyDeleteOne of the reasons that Fox does the same crap that ESPN has done the night before is because the TV crew folks with Fox are so tuned out to racing they never even watch the Nationwide race. They don't care a Gophers Butt about the sport and it shows every week. It's true! They always are talking about baseball and football in the compound. Never about racing unless they are making fun of it.
ReplyDeleteLots of folks yelling at me on Twitter about that first racing segment. Just jumping around, missing the racing.
ReplyDeleteIt really does take a lot to continue being a fan right now.
According to DW, hitting the wall is actually good for the car!
ReplyDeleteHi Planeteers! I'm already wondering how long I'll be able to hang in there tonight. Already too many in car and 1 - 2 car shots. If this keeps up, I'll be looking for womething esciting to watch.
ReplyDeleteLot of silents so far.
ReplyDeleteDW doing a lot of dancin' already tonight.
ReplyDeleteI feel as if I'm watching a video game with nothing but all these in car camera shots! No clue what's going on in the actual race when they won't let you see it!
ReplyDeleteDW: This is a momentum racetrack.
ReplyDeleteGee, DW, at what track isn't? :-s
Whipping camera from single car shot to single car shot. Oh misery.
ReplyDeleteWow if only they would stay with wide shots/overhead shots as long as they stayed with the bumpercam...
ReplyDeleteDW now says Denny compensating for hitting the wall & has settled in! Which is it DW good to hit wall or not? Make up your mind please Thanks.
Let me get that straight, his name is Ryan Newman? Thanks.
ReplyDeleteThe shots are switching so fast it's making my eyes strobe.
ReplyDeleteWhat in the world are they trying to accomplish with such poor technique?
Why is it so hard to understand that zooming out and showing more cars, shows more action.
ReplyDeleteDW needs to make up his mind. In the last 10 laps I've heard him say "you don't want to be the guy on the outside" and I've also heard him say "you don't want to be the guy on the bottom".
ReplyDeleteare flies swarming around DW yet?
ReplyDeleteDon't forget that the problem corner is turn 2.....until it became turn 4.
ReplyDeleteHe forgot they turned the track around a few years ago. Let's see, how many was it?
ReplyDeleteWalter, FOX extended his contract through 2014. Best thing for him would to be a move to the Hollywood Hotel.
ReplyDeleteHe just does not fit as the primary color guy these days.
As I get ready to record the rest of this race and watch hockey live, I just want to express my deepest gratitude that Fox does not have the contract for the Kentucky Derby. Can you imagine the bedlam if they just switched between close-ups from horse to horse so you could never see who might be coming out of the pack?
ReplyDeleteSeeing what I have seen so far makes me sad. Darlington deserves better. Long-time fans deserve better. New fans deserve better. :-(
DW has more flip flops than me & I have 15 pair ( Florida resident)
ReplyDeleteTV is now lowest volume possible, MRN louder. Next he gets muted...
C'mon! You're not supposed to pay attention to what the announcers say let alone remember what they said.
ReplyDeleteWhat kind of fan are you?
sorrowfully, he seems to be backing further away from reality and falling deeper into his ego pit ...seems to be a good family man, but becoming a caricature of racing analyst
ReplyDeleteA better idea is get rid of the Hollywood Hotel as the days of having a toy box in the infield is over. Maybe that's why they are on pit row now. It's a heck of a lot cheaper too.
ReplyDeleteKoHoSo
ReplyDeleteI could not have said it better myself
We need a detailed description of what the splitter is? really?
ReplyDeleteSee why you have to shoot it wide and add some aerials? Field always gets strung out fast. Two car shots make no sense.
ReplyDeleteLike watching an arcade game.
ReplyDeleteWhere is your driver and you can't look at the ticker.
Fox TV new idea watching racing thru replays. TV muted. DVR warming up.....
ReplyDeleteHey everyone I just wanted to say HI to all! I cant post tonight im at a 2 day late cinco de mayo party and the drinks are going down and down so I JUST want to wish everyone a happy safe fun GOOD broadcast! (thats asking a lot from Fox now a days) but I hope you all have fun sucks I cant post tonight but im thinking of all you! thats why i signed on to my aunts computer so have fun everyone :) GO JR AND DAVID RAGAN
ReplyDeleteJon,
ReplyDeleteWouldn't that be siete de mayo?
JD, I'll report this as a Anon as I work in racing. I wanted to respond to something I saw you had written in your article today.
ReplyDeleteIf you are curious about what happened to Jeff's cut away stuff? It's that a friend of mine use to provide those props for him for over 3 years until 2009. Jeff ran him off and took over the contract himself so he could grab all the money. He basically put the guy out of business and forgot about the fact that this vendor was making him look good all the time. If you have noticed it was never the same after the 2009 Daytona race as he had no more props like he had before. Big mistake for him. Now all he can come up with for pre race is a Block of wood.
Between the music and those totally weird cartoon bumpers, it's like FOX is mocking us.
ReplyDeleteAnon 8:25PM,
ReplyDeleteJust be careful if you still work in TV. The FOX guys got the warning. Comment on my site and get fired.
Nice huh?
You'd have no idea where anyone is without the ticker. They have bounced from the middle to the front to the back randomly. Joy is struggling with play by play and spends more time talking to DW than calling the race. Let's hope they keep using the pit reporters
ReplyDeleteJD, no kidding? Wow. No I don't work for Fox. Just a low man on the totem pole. If I do get fired for making comments they probably would be doing me a favor.
ReplyDeleteThey really mandated that? Wow!
It should be abundantly clear to all of us by now that nearly every person involved with NASCARonFOX loathes and despises NASCAR, stock car racing, racing, the participants and their fans. These television employees should all be fired on the spot. No one should be allowed or required to work televising a sport they don't like or understand. Yes, testing should be required and I don't mean for drugs! No one at FOX Sports knows one single thing about racing or how to broadcast racing and the people on site know this. It is an inside joke with all the employees - they'll never be fired because no one at the Head Office knows what SHOULD be happening on raceday. And DW is what those people believe we are - the racers, the fans, all the employees of the race teams. In their minds, we ARE Darrell Waltrip! How could we ever be unhappy with what he says and does?
ReplyDeleteWhat is going on? Is FOX time-shifting the race? It looks like it's dark at the race, but I just looked outside my window and it's still totally bright. Strange.
ReplyDeleteOther than the confusion about if this is really live, the coverage has been pretty much as expected.
Too many tight shots, too man bumper cams, no idea what is going on with half the field.
They did do a good job of fully covering Kenseth's problems at least.
Yea, apparently at Richmond some folks got the powers that be upset.
ReplyDeleteWe got some folks fired back in 2007, so we have been real careful with that.
It's the creepy part of TV.
I don't know who's driving these cars anymore. They change the paint jobs every race. I recognize very few cars by sight and it annoys the hell out of me.
ReplyDeleteCould theystop the fluff talk and just show the battles?
ReplyDeleteBLIMP SHOT!! BLIMP SHOT!!
ReplyDeleteOh. That went by to quickly.
Good work not going to commercial with the caution coming out. Smart decision on the production department.
ReplyDeleteYea, it's not the TV that is creepy. It's the Fox people.
ReplyDeleteSo anyway, that's what happened to the Cut Away segments that used to be very informative.
Now all they do during the Race at the Hollywood Hotel is cook out and eat and sleep. Believe it or not. That is really what they do. I see it all the time.
I'm not there today but ask someone if it's going on right now.
The godaddy.com commercials are just getting stupider as we go. Does anyone really go to the website to "see more"?
ReplyDeleteCathy
Blimp shot! The following shot actually zoomed out instead of zooming in!
ReplyDeleteCathy, I would if it was the Miss turkey lady. She makes Danica and the go daddy girls look like my accountant.
ReplyDeleteTo paraphrase Coach Herm Edwards: "We race to win the race!"
ReplyDelete92 laps is 1/4 of the race.
ReplyDeleteJPM sure is making lots of friends again this week.
ReplyDeleteOK, didanyone else see Vickers right against JPM's rear bumper as he got into the #48?
ReplyDeleteJuan isn't making any friends out there...
ReplyDeleteSecond reference (in the comments) to the Turkey Lady... I can't wait to see that commercial...
ReplyDeleteMontoya just spun "Ole Five Time" - and I loved how Gordon went right thru the whole mess!
Cathy
Whatever this is it is awkward.
ReplyDeleteWish Myers would just let Hammond do the recap so we actually got some info and opinion.
ReplyDeleteMyers = fool
The Miss Turkey long version is the best. They will run it again. Make sure you get real close to your TV so you can see the Turkeys on her swimsuit. LOL
ReplyDelete@846
ReplyDeletewhen you see that BK spot, check out the little burgers on her - hmmm- suit
Replay is the only way to find out on FOX.
ReplyDeleteIt's Hardees not BK. I see what you are looking at. Missed the whole sponsor. LOL
ReplyDeletereplays under green so you can see what is happening on the track after it happened. Zoom out might work to.
ReplyDeleteSo JD if Fox employees talk bad about Fox on this site they get fired. Wow what a corrupt culture Fox is running
ReplyDeleteWhat constellation is that, DW?
ReplyDeleteDid u hear that? Dummy Darryl just said " if it's any constellation"
ReplyDeletesaltsburgtrojanfan,
ReplyDeleteI am sure what JD said is so true. Fox runs the show and the compound like a suppressed prison camp. No one can ever have a question much less criticize any thing.
I'm so tired of trying to 'watch' a race by squinting at the crawler non stop so I can try to see how more than 8 drivers are doing! ARRRG!
ReplyDeleteWith all that talking, it's a wonder we have not seen more of that from him.
ReplyDeleteBowyer goes from 36th to 8th and they just now mention him? They think that is covering a race??
ReplyDeleteJr. up to 11th if I'm reading the crawler properly?
ReplyDeleteI'm in NJ and we don't have any Hardee's here anymore.... I don't think I will ever see it.. Oh well, it's nice that there is something on that some of us can enjoy...
ReplyDeleteCathy
Not an ounce of excitement from the booth even though they were literally an inch apart. DW's jaw is moving out of control
ReplyDeleteI've watched JPM since he came to Nascar. He always struck me as being a hot headed punk. While being involved in many incidents, the folks in the booth and in the media never criticize him. Now what do you think he was going to say when asked about getting into 'five time'? I had a chance to wreck The Champ and took it?
ReplyDeleteOne emailer said he thinks the new FOX bumper music is porn tunes from the 80's. I did not ask how he might know.
ReplyDeleteIt's awful at any rate!
Anon, we are the TV guys! At least we got a replay!
ReplyDeleteSally, I'm not sure about the driver position crawl at the top of the screen. For one of the restarts a little while ago, the tracker said Kyle was in third place just before taking the Green. Only problem was that Kyle started the restart on the front row. Must be 'fuzzy math'.
ReplyDeleteThe re-explanation of what a splitter is was helpful.
ReplyDeleteIt gets clearer now. DW convinced the boss at Fox that he knew what he was talking about and was the best person for the job. The few that knew better were afraid to tell the boss the truth for fear of being fired. Therefore, DW is 'THE MAN".
ReplyDeleteDid Mike Joy just get "hushed" when he started to talk about Truex firing his crew last week? Mid sentence he was cut off and hasn't continued with the story so far....
ReplyDeleteCathy
Agree with you on Joy. Sure sounded like it.
ReplyDeleteduring green pizza commercial, phone commercial.
ReplyDeleteOK, CuzCarl is now the favorite son.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure DW hushed Joy since he was talking about one of Mikey's teams.
ReplyDeleteI just wish my driver would be the chosen one for a few minutes so I could see him.
Ya know, I didn't think things could get any weirder. Mike Joy sounds like he is ready to board the plane, DW is out of his mind on flip-floping and contradictions and Larry Mac is all about babies and driver's social lives.
ReplyDeleteWEIRD.
It is rare to see the last 10 drivers or so on the ticker. With any interruption it starts over again and doesn't keep going where it left off.
ReplyDeleteCaution . . .debris frontstretch
ReplyDeleteReut is biggest mover and only one word mention!
ReplyDeleteCaution for debris
ReplyDeleteCathy--someone mentioned on Twitter not too long ago that they checked it out & it wasn't anything special. Nothing juicy or scandalous.
ReplyDeleteI was out of the room but if Mike did get "hushed" when talking about something that's a shame! :(
Where is the debris. Maybe we will see it in replay.
ReplyDeleteGood one from Twitter:
ReplyDeletejust1hanna: Is this race 500 miles, 500 laps, or 500 dumb DW comments?
@charlie
ReplyDeleteIt's on the frontstrech just below the groove across from the #31 pit box. Pit road official called it in.
So, they should be able to show it on TV.
Charlie, maybe we can see the debris from the blimp shot!
ReplyDeleteI think we can safely assume there will be more than 500 stupid DW comments before this race is over!
ReplyDeleteI know you guys get crazy about the Jr love but hes up to 11th from 30th and they showed him on TV once or twice when there was an incident near him...........
ReplyDeleteWell for sure its not 500 dumb DW comments - race would be over!
ReplyDelete500 dumb DW comments would be an awfully short race.
ReplyDeleteMy telephone tells me more than my TV does . . . one to go already
ReplyDeleteJD at 9:06 PM well said and again True!
ReplyDeleteThere ya go, they just mentioned the Truex situation.
ReplyDeleteNow they want to pick on Trump. What happened to him?
ReplyDeleteThe booth must be monitoring TDP-they just finished telling the Truex story. Lol.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to the audio crew. Wish it looked as good as it sounds.
ReplyDeleteI actually saw the #88 car...just behind the cars they were 'covering'. And no mention of him moving up into 11th. real nice.
ReplyDeleteNeedless to say, best live event audio does NOT include the announcers.
ReplyDeleteTrum[ "didn't have time" to drive the Indy 500 pace car ans was replaced by AJ Foyt.
ReplyDeleteTrumps Prez bid fell apart - Pres O showed his birth certificate.
ReplyDeleteAnd Trumps hair deflated
What is it with Mike Joy talking about Darlington County? Can't he jus say Darlington?
ReplyDeleteEven Darrell's tounge is in revolt
ReplyDeletecrew tree hahahahahaha
ReplyDeleteWay off topic, but....does anyone else out therewonder what Trump does with all the combover hair at night? Hair net? Braid?
ReplyDeleteFinally Lap 137!
ReplyDeleteGlad they god a round to it
@Sally - scrunchy? 1big roller on top to keep wave in?
ReplyDeleteAre the camera guys actually giving us a 'thru the field' without comment from the booth or pit reporters? At least it's something!
ReplyDeleteI put mine on the night stand.
ReplyDeleteFYI on my raceview Tony's car has been stopped at Start Finish since lap 20.
ReplyDeleteI would be pissed if I was a Tony fan
@Jojay...good ones! Never thought of the scrunchie!
ReplyDeleteIs this some sort of half assed throught the field?
ReplyDeleteMaybe an ''ebeneezer Scrooge night cap?
ReplyDeleteI'm actually enjoying this unofficial 'through the field'. We can see the transition from car to car as we travel back. Wish we got more info, but at least we can see them briefly.
ReplyDeleteJunior is in 10th and moving up. Get ready when DW sees it.
ReplyDeleteDid Mike Joy just feed DW that chance to tell his 4x6 in the door story....again?
ReplyDeleteTony is reporting a vibration he's had for a while - it hasn't gotten much worse. His front end is on the ground.
ReplyDelete"When you smell wood..." - whoever made the earlier comment about Hammond and a block of wood was on to something.
ReplyDeleteCan anyone help with this question please. I have a Sprint Android Phone and can I really watch racing on it like they show in all their commercials? Dang if I can figure it out.
ReplyDeleteI honestly could not get thru one of these telecasts without this blog - completely enjoying Sally & Co with the comments about The Donald's hair. Too funny.
ReplyDeleteCathy
This babble-a-thon from Ol' DW is killing me. He doesn't slow up enough to have time to think. Blurting out one half-baked thought after another. How does this add value?
ReplyDeleteWTF is this record?
ReplyDeleteAnon, there is no online video currently on websites or smart phones. Sorry.
ReplyDeleteThe commercial is totally misleading. I emailed and they said he was watching race highlights, not live video.
How weak is that?
no racing just mouths flappin
ReplyDeleteAnon, thanks. If you take a moment to get a blue nick we will know which comments are coming from you in the thread.
ReplyDeleteThey do know he is 26 now right?
ReplyDeleteThanks JD. I pay over 100 bucks a month for this phone to work with the internet and all and I am thinking about suing them.
ReplyDeleteI do appreciate the response.
Is this not the kind of talk that should be done during practice.
ReplyDeleteWide shots and play by play would be nice.
Ah, yes...flat tires aren't a (sponsored) tire issue...it's the drivers/crewchief's problem...
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by a blog administrator.
ReplyDeleteCan't link here in blogspot.
ReplyDeleteSprint is getting an earful after that commercial which is very misleading.
Maybe they just wanted to put pressure on NASCAR.
Reds game was earlier today...getting depressed TRYING to watch this NASCAR race...wow..how bad camera work is :(
ReplyDeleteThen I turned on Golf Channel to watch Seve Ballestero's memories & got really depressed (He died today at age 54, brain tumor)I remember him from his hey day.
It's so sad to NOT CARE about watching NASCAR LIVe..that said, I watched a few minutes ESPN last night & the camera work did not STINK the 15 minutes I watched it...Kyle B carpetbagging the NW race made me glad it was just last 15 minutes.
I really miss "LOVING NASCAR" but I think it's left me for good.
Truex entering the pits was proof DW is just full of it.
ReplyDeleteThey showed the replay, talked about it, and DW just said the rotors were hot from hitting the brakes hard.
Then Voda says Truex had reported being out of tires, and DW acts like "well of course that was wrong" didn't you see the rotors?
Well if you knew that then why didn't you say something the first time - you are supposed to be the expert analyst!
I really think I should sue them.
ReplyDeleteMaybe I will hire a lawyer and see what happens.
How about the way Mike said "Halfway!!!" Too funny.
ReplyDeleteI love racing. I will watch it wherever it is on tv. I am just glad to see it.
ReplyDeleteYeah, @Sophia, I agree... "I really miss "LOVING NASCAR" but I think it's left me for good."
ReplyDeleteI guess they arent gonna tell us what Harvicks spotter thought was a caution?
ReplyDeleteJackie Chiles could win the law suit.
ReplyDeleteI'll Hire him! LOL
I love racing too. If the TV folks would show racing that would be great. All I see on my TV is single cars going fast. Not really any racing.
ReplyDelete"My guys are telling me...". DW got in enough trouble for the Gibbs rumors last weekend, phrasing his words like a tabloid magazine isn't helping his credibility.
ReplyDeleteI hope they are getting good bucks for making me mad a lowes.
ReplyDeleteWe all love racing, the casual fans are long gone.
ReplyDeleteJust want to see it and hear about it. SPEED is the only group now just doing it right.
The NNS race from Richmond they did was outstanding.
Busch, still waiting for DW to tell us how that 20 and 11 pit crew swap worked out.
ReplyDeleteCan someone tweet Mike Joy and ask him to complete this sentence - "If I had a hammer, I'd...." ?
ReplyDelete
