Live Blogging Nationwide Series From Chicagoland (ESPN - 7:30PM ET)
Marty Reid is back after calling the Indy 500 for ABC. He steps in with Dale Jarrett and Andy Petree to call the race. Mike Massaro, Jamie Little, Dave Burns and Dr. Jerry Punch are going to cover pit road.
Allen Bestwick has Rusty Wallace and Brad Daugherty alongside for the pre-race show. Danica Patrick is in the field, as are three Sprint Cup Series drivers who flew from Kansas Speedway after qualifying. Carl Edwards, Brad Keselowski and Kevin Harvick are set to compete with a fading field of Nationwide Series regulars.
The story of this race might begin with the start and park cars. There are at least ten cars currently rumored to be starting and parking, with even more possible. Watch for these cars to drop off quickly and cash in after a long tow to Chicago.
Reid may have to reach into his bag of tricks to make portions of this race exciting. This is going to be especially true if the three Cup drivers go to the front and battle it out among themselves. It is not expected that Danica will play a role in the outcome.
ESPN has been working hard on the telecasts and making strides toward actually following the flow of the racing and not the stories discussed in the pre-race show. This will be especially interesting tonight as there is one group racing for the win and another group racing for the driver's championship of the series.
The track had rain earlier in the day and weather could still be a factor. Chicagoland tends to string-out the field rather quickly on restarts and is a track position race. Long green flag runs are typical of the facility.

so it looks like the countdown show is getting bumped somewhere else on ESPN's lineup? I just checked 1 and 2 and there is programming on that doesn't seem like its about to finish up.
ReplyDeleteI can't say that Chicagoland is one of my favorite tracks to watch on TV.
Gina,
ReplyDeleteSportsCenter was first and the NNS show is on the air on ESPN.
Odd question maybe, but how did this race come to exist?
ReplyDeleteThis is a standalone race at a track the hosts a Cup race. Can remember this happening years ago at New Hampshire, but it seems very unusual.
We are waiting to see if ESPN talks about the dust-up between Kyle Busch and Richard Childress today after the truck race in Kansas.
ReplyDeleteChip owns the track....lol.
ReplyDeleteIs there a scanner free for the Nationwide race?
ReplyDeleteJerry Punch is good.
ReplyDeletethanks, JD, I just switched over now
ReplyDeleteRace to the Garage Participants:
ReplyDelete#40 Charles Lewandoski
#41 Carl Long
#44 Jeff Green
#46 Chase Miller
#49 Dennis Setzer
#55 Brett Rowe
#68 Matt Carter
#74 Mike Harmon
#75 Johnny Chapman
#79 Tim Andrews
Buschseries - LOL, that's a great way to put it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for that, I got the same. It should be interesting to see if more pull off than usual.
ReplyDeleteI am told a lot of guys are going broke on this series.
Not a pretty picture for the regulars not from a big team.
Charlie, that is sooooo the perfect role for him!
ReplyDeletetime for the mute button, no DP for me!
ReplyDeleteaaaaand the let the Danica lovefest begin anew
ReplyDeleteChip owned Chicago Motor Speedway, a flat 1 mile oval built in Cicero, Il that opened in 1999 with champ car and truck races. ISC and Indianapolis Motor Speedway partnered to build Chicagoland Speedway around the same time Chicago Motor Speedway was opened. Chicagoland got the Cup date obviously. No Cup date combined with the demise of champ car forced Chicago Motor Speedway to be shut down. It was demolished a couple years ago. Indy has since sold their share in this track to ISC, which now owns 100% of Chicagoland Speedway.
ReplyDeleteChicagoland got a second race because the IndyCar series dropped all ISC tracks after last year. ISC wants al their tracks to have 2 events per year. Chicago got a 2nd Nationwide race, The Glen already had the 6 hour, Homestead has a standalone Grand Am race, and Kansas got a 2nd Cup date.
They did good, quick question and out.
ReplyDeleteYea, what Roland said!
ReplyDeleteand now we're watching a commercial about gout. Considering how many drugs for all kinds of conditions are advertised on race broadcasts, I wonder if they think all race fans are sick or horny (or need assistance with being able to be horny)?
ReplyDeleteNot trying to be offensive, it does make me wonder though.
Thanks Roland!
ReplyDeleteI remember Chip's track. Reminded me of Milwaukee.
From Jeff Gluck over at SBNation:
ReplyDeleteKyle Busch was put into a headlock and punched several times by famed team owner Richard Childress before falling to the ground, according to several people with direct knowledge of an altercation that occurred after the Kansas Truck Series race on Saturday.
Busch, who had raced hard with Richard Childress Racing's Joey Coulter late in the event, was confronted by Childress in the garage following the race.
According to several sources, Childress removed his watch and handed it to grandson Austin Dillon before walking up to Busch.
Childress apparently didn't like what he heard from Busch upon speaking with the driver, and the 65-year-old grandfather placed Busch in a headlock and punched him two or three times.
Busch then went to the ground in a defensive position to avoid further injury, but Childress attempted to punch Busch again after he rose.
SPEED's Ray Dunlap reported Busch may have suffered a black eye in the incident.
I love that ESPN has been trying to focus more on Nationwide regulars lately...I just wish they had more to work with.
ReplyDeleteI like Chicagoland, but if tonights K&N Pro Series Race at Bowman Gray Stadium was televised live, I would watch that instead
ReplyDeleteWow, nice anthem.
ReplyDeleteI liked the anthem!
ReplyDeleteOh dear yet another terrible National Anthem. What is this sport coming to?
ReplyDeleteI sure hope it's a good race tonight with good coverage - there sure isn't anybody at the track to see it...
Got to give the anthem credit, but the guy in Vancouver still wins.
ReplyDeleteWhy do the anthem singers always try to change how the song is suppose to be sung. If you got out the sheet music there are notes that are sung.
ReplyDeleteJust sing the notes, don't try to make it different.
Wow, hand it to Richard for deciding to take matters into his own hands. Maybe KyBu finally mouthed off to the wrong man.
ReplyDeleteOld RC might get some time off for that one come Tuesday.
ReplyDeleteHe probably wouldn't mind a hunting trip, anyway.
ReplyDeleteI gotta feelin RC will gladly pay the fine and go fishin, it was worth it!
ReplyDeletedoes anyone else not like that feature where they play the radio feeds and step all over each other? To me, its just meaningless noise that way
ReplyDeleteYeah, JD, that might be true, but I personally think he won't regret having stepped up at all.
ReplyDeleteNot many fans at the track.
ReplyDelete@Jeff:
ReplyDelete"I gotta feelin RC will gladly pay the fine"
I think Kevin Harvick will gladly pay it for him!
If RC announced a fund where people could contribute to pay his fine, he could probably turn a profit on the deal. There would be contributors lining up.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if Harvick knows about his boss and Busch?
ReplyDeleteWell they poked and prodded this all season, it finally happened! Richard Childress is an old school racer and I bet this is not just a "boys have at it" incident. Its about time the SHERRIFF had a confrontation with the lad.
ReplyDelete@Gina, yep the random radio noise is ridiculous, but then it is E$PN
ReplyDeleteHappy Race Evening Planeteers <3
ReplyDeleteAgree Jeff--he's a gazillionaire any fine is pocketchange!
Indeed Anon 8:17 many wished it were them doing the punching as well!
Don't go in-car cam during a pass. It takes all the perspective out of what is going on.
ReplyDeleteLooking like 5 cars out (start & park) by lap 10.
ReplyDeleteThe s&p fest is underway.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if "if boys have at it" will apply to owners, too? LOL
ReplyDeleteI'll bet Harvick is very HAPPY tonight if he heard about it - considering the twitter world, he probably has.
The Childress website asks fans to vote for him for the 2012 Hall of Fame class.
ReplyDeleteI think he may have new voters.
Not much of a crowd there. Weather is probably keeping some away, but I have a feeling this will be the only year Chicagoland has 2 Nationwide races. Too bad Kansas doesn't have lights. They could've run the trucks last night, and this race at Kansas today.
ReplyDeleteMikeC, the only problem with that is then we'd have a full field of Cup drivers instead of only a few.
ReplyDeleteLooks like they touched says the announcer and we are watching an in-car cam so we can't tell.
ReplyDeleteI really feel sorry for Kevin Harvick having a handful in his car! NOT! He's a cup driver for heaven's sake. We just got in for the green flag and I was waiting for MR to say about the meat in a sandwich but he didn't - yet. Too much emphasis on the cup drivers or Bayne so far!
ReplyDeleteI hand it RC for stepping up and doing what a lot of people have wanted to do for a long time (Sorry AR). Poor Kyle didn't realize that 'oldtimer' RC was used to settling things without help from anyone. Maybe he'll be a bit more careful with his mouth from now on.
ReplyDeleteLooks like Lewandoski is trying to outpark the other S&P teams to protect their top 30 position.
ReplyDeleteSPEED is updating the RC/KyBU story right now.
ReplyDeleteSally, I was thinking that if Dale was still alive, he'd have put KyBu in a headlock years ago. I'll 2nd the sorry to AR because of my opinion.
ReplyDeleteAbout the only time they'll go back and show a regular is if Steve Wallace is in a battle for position.
ReplyDeleteSteve sure has gotten a ton of free air time this season.
ReplyDeleteOf course, Steve Wallace is playing it smart in this race. Ride behind Danica....that'll about guarantee you camera time tonight.
ReplyDeleteGina, I was thinking the same thing! There's a reason Dale and Richard were so close...and RC just proved it. I can't wait to hear all those who will be 'disgusted' by this. Guess they think it's better to push a driverless car out of the way on pit road?
ReplyDeleteSteve is "special". He gets airtime like Danica. Danica is a master self promoter and Steve happens to be related to one.
ReplyDeleteSetzer is done for the day after coming back out and leapfrogging over 7 S&P cars for 7 more points.
ReplyDelete#79 Andrews to the garage as well as #23 Richardson, which is a surprise.
Blake Koch on pit road
ReplyDeleteGina...sometimes I think Kyle never would have gotten this far (behavior-wise) because Dale would have straightened him out years ago, either physically or just verbally. It would have been to his benefit.
ReplyDeleteAppears to be a heavy commercial load tonight, unless they're doing some front-loading.
ReplyDeleteglen-I totally agree with you! Him and a couple of other drivers (his bro for one) surely could have used Big E's sense of fair play, so to speak. Would have made them better drivers all-around, imo.
ReplyDeleteInteresting take on the RC/KB altercation from AA on Speed. I just noticed that the scoring scroll on the race is showing only 42 cars. Hubby & going back and forth so it's hard for me to keep track of everything. Doesn't look like a lot of folks there but I guess the weather kept them away. Kevin's cup crew is there to pit him is that really fair to the NW regulars?
ReplyDeleteWow! Add #51 Clements behind the wall - Lewandoski & Long remain on the track.
ReplyDeleteHow many is that now total?
ReplyDeleteVicky, as Roland said earlier this is an ISC track and no way is an ARCA/NNS weekend going to be a winner. What it does do is get ESPN and national TV there.
ReplyDeleteWell, I have to be PC in my real life and I'm sure that there will be people who will be all over how terrible it was, but here I refuse to pretend to be apalled that RC decided to smack a loud mouthed kid who has had it coming for a long time. I cheered for Jimmy Spencer when he punched Kurt so I'm staying consistent on this.
ReplyDelete11 cars behind the wall, #30 Mikey Kile blowing up makes it 12.
ReplyDeleteTight shots on a single car do not show you much.
ReplyDeleteYou don't know where he is on the track.
You can't tell how fast they are going.
You can't see who he is catching up to the car or who might be just ahead.
GlenC1 - I agree. I am willing to give KyBu props for being able to wheel a race car, but he and his brother were obviously raised by wolves with absolutely NO manners or respect for others.
ReplyDeleteThere is a difference between confidence and arrogance.
The thing that kills me about Cup drivers being in NE & Truck races is we always keep hearing it's because "they love to race." If that's the case, why don't any of them go run some local short tracks during the week and donate part of their winnings to their fellow competitors and donate the other half to charity...since they love to race so much.
ReplyDelete#23 Richardson back on the track
ReplyDeleteYou mean like Tony jumping into an open wheel car at asome local dirt track does?
ReplyDeleteCharlie, I am not impressed with what we are seeing from this broadcast.
ReplyDeleteI live in NJ and since my brother and I got back into NASCAR we've been working on getting to as many tracks as possible, but if this is what the racing is like at Chicago (and I only have TV to base my decision on) then I surely won't rush out and buy tickets and plan a trip.
Carl Edwards biggest challenge will come from his pit stall? Is that what DJ just said? So in other words, there's no competition out there that can beat him unless they screw up in the pits.
ReplyDeleteWow, I should watch the rest of the race with bated breath then.
You never know, maybe Carl will end up on the wrong fuel strategy and Danica will win.
ReplyDeleteI'm really liking the coverage so far. A lot more wide shots than we ever see on FOX and they're actually talking about racing.
ReplyDeleteAnd if Kevin Harvick doesn't want to be raced, he should stay out of this series and give the seat to someone who can take it.
Gina, as much as TV and Nascar bend over backwards to tell us that there are no 'cookie cutter' tracks, these flatter 1 1/2 mile track tend to produce cookie cutter races. The cars string out quickly, clean air and track postition make passing very difficult, and not for the most compelling races.
ReplyDeleteOldnewenglander -- LOL, oh boy don't even think it!
ReplyDeleteSally Kansas looked the same as Chicago today during the truck race flat and a 1 1/2 mile track.
ReplyDelete#39 Wise & #41 Long in the pits
ReplyDeleteI just went back and read up on what Marty was saying about the Indycar race in Japan. They're running it on the Motegi road course because there's structural damage to the oval from the earthquake earlier this year.
ReplyDeleteIf Espn was told that the people watching the race were all 10 year or more race fans and you have to show the race as if you were in the stands - would they telecast it different.
ReplyDeleteI hope so.
Wise is back out, Long to the garage. S&P #10
ReplyDeleteSally, I agree. They can talk about how they each have their own characteristics and I'm sure they do to the drivers, but they all APPEAR to be the same and having all the cars spread out makes for little passing and not much side by side racing which equals boring TV.
ReplyDeleteparity is not a plus -- mark martin said a few weeks ago - all the cars are going the same speed.
If you switched the trucks and cars today, could you really tell it wasn't the same track?
ReplyDeleteMarty is so funny, he's saying each driver is separated by one! Hello?????
ReplyDeleteIn the race are the cup guys, Danica, Steve Wallace and Trevor B.
ReplyDeleteThat's about it.
Gina, I agree....years ago I read that John MacEnroe's parents claimed to have disciplined him when he had a tantrum; took his racket away. If they really had stuck with that, he wouldn't have behaved like he did, imho. There had to have been something lacking in the parenting realm.
ReplyDeleteI disagree with some on the 'cookie cutter' issue. I think they all drive a bit different....but to the viewer, the characteristics are much the same. On the other hand, I think people have romantic view of racing in the past as better than it really was.
#23 Richardson back to the garage
ReplyDeleteglenc, your'e probably right. I think one of the things that made 'old' racing seem so much more interesting was the characters that were involved with it. They used to be such rugged individuals (see: Richard Childress) who sounded like a bunch of hicks, but were some of the smartest people with motors and chassis. It wasn't all done by engineers and computers. And most of the drivers could build their own cars. Made it much more interesting, trying to 'out smart' Nascar.
ReplyDelete"On the other hand, I think people have romantic view of racing in the past as better than it really was."
ReplyDeleteI agree. We watch hundreds of races on TV but remember only a few through rose colored glasses. Even then, we remember the special moment and forget the 90% of the race we didn't like.
GlenC1 - I've heard that about McEnroe, too.
ReplyDeleteI recognize that in the "old days" people used to win races by multiple laps sometimes over the whole field, but I do think that the ugly car plus the proliferation of 1.5 mile D shaped ovals and the changes to the multiple changes to the points system has made the racing less compelling. I know my enthusiasm has certainly lessened in recent years. Of course I also know that it J. Gordon suddenly found the magic beans that had him running up front and winning races and championships again, I'd probably be a happier camper about the current state of racing.
If cars are being lapped that means cars are being passed.
ReplyDeleteShow that.
12 cars are behind the wall, at least 10 were S&P entries, not sure about #23.
ReplyDelete#40 Charles Lewandoski is the surprise, running 22nd 1 lap down.
Actually about 19 years ago, we went to watch an exhibition race at Texas World Speedway and Darrell Waltrip won by over a lap so it was possible back then but I doubt that could happen now.
ReplyDeleteAt least they have some stories to discuss.....at least.
ReplyDeleteOf course, in the 'old days' you had to race your way back onto the lead lap, it wasn't given to you or 'waved around'. It's how they end up with so many cars on the lead lap these days.
ReplyDeletesurprisingly Rusty actually made a good point about Harvick and Sadler.
ReplyDeleteso what does the caution do to those guys who just pitted?
Oh, great!
ReplyDeleteVicky--It would never happen today. Debris cautions makes actual competative racing a fantasy.
ReplyDeleteSally, yeah, I know they changed the racing back to the caution for reasons of safety, but that changed the complexion of racing a lot.
ReplyDeleteUgh, I cannot stand that camera view from the crewman's helmet. Makes me dizzy and sick
Could the weight of the car falling on the right front tire before it was put on cause a cut in it?
ReplyDeleteMRN yells "trouble in turn 3, Ricky Stenhouse in the wall, Caution is out"
ReplyDeleteIt took ESPN about 15 seconds after caution came out to figure out it was in turn 3 and show Ricky's car, then the better part of a minute to put it all together that Ricky was the cause of the caution.
Pitiful.
I think ESPN's problem there was that AB can't actually see the racetrack from his pit studio.
ReplyDeleteAnd he was directing traffic for the pit sequence instead of Reid.
We need AB in the booth like pronto!!
ReplyDeleteThe camera director has no idea what a Nascar race is all about.
ReplyDeleteTreating it like practice tv...
ReplyDeleteSubtract one cup driver of the 3. Danica gets the lucky dog. :)
ReplyDeleteKenny Wallace is showing he still has it tonight. That 4-wide is a ballsy move.
Notice we haven't heard a word about Kenny, Sorenson, many 'regulars'. Pitiful. And again, looking at the stands, the Cup drivers aren't pulling in big crowds.
ReplyDeleteSorenson got some coverage earlier, Kenny last coverage was pulling the 4-wide earlier.
ReplyDeleteYou would think tires would be something to talk about.
ReplyDeleteWho has sets left, etc.
Be something you could talk about earlier in the race.
seriously bored now - except for the convo on this board, the actual race broadcast is a drag.
ReplyDeletePlus, this crowd shows Danica isn't the draw that the talking heads were claiming she'd be. Her hometown's not far from this race track.
ReplyDeleteor maybe just Danica's friends are there.
ReplyDeleteWait until next year!
ReplyDeleteWere all just having a happy time.
ReplyDeleteGee, Marty - is it really a great race? Or just that particular effort by Sadler?
ReplyDeleteSally agree with you, also with all the "cup" drivers racing in the NW Charlotte race, there was only 45,000 fans in the stands for that race!
ReplyDeleteSo who has a set of tires left?
ReplyDeleteWho's the meat in the sandwich, Marty?
ReplyDeleteJD, don't remind me of how much DP overload we'll suffer in the NW series if she really does come over.
ReplyDeleteThat will probably be the end of my watching this series if they don't treat her like a regular driver.
Going to Bestwick et al. out of a commercial just zaps any momentum the broadcast has. I don't understand why the booth doesn't take the entire race from green to checkered.
ReplyDeleteAll networks do this now and it just makes me want to turn the thing off.
I hate that Uloric commercial.
ReplyDeleteWell, much as I enjoy the company here, I think I've about had it for tonight. I have to save something to try to get through tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteYeah, Rusty, it gets darker every night!
ReplyDeleteThis battle for the lead is great racing!
ReplyDeletegee the 2 lead cars are actually racing. and they are showing it. Pretty cool
ReplyDeleteNight Sally! See you tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteDuring a pass do not go to the in-car cam.
ReplyDeleteVickyD, so do I.
ReplyDeleteDoes Marty ever put a G on the
ReplyDeleteend of a word ? Does he ever
shut up about how many lead changes
and all kinds of info that nobody
cares about?
Of course one might say that the
more Reed blabbers on .. the less
we have to put up with .....
Jabbber Jarret. Close call.
Has Featherlite ever made a commercial that wasn't embarrassingly dumb?
ReplyDeleteThey really need some marketing help.
15 Laps to go.
ReplyDeleteYeah, Tim, cars need fuel, back to you Marty!
ReplyDeletewell I hope Allgaier pulls it off - rather a regular than an interloper win this race.
ReplyDeleteMarty Reid is just the worst. The freaking worst.
ReplyDeleteWhat a joke.
ReplyDeletethey didn't seem to know where the finish line was... terrible
ReplyDeleteWow, what an interesting ending that was! Glad that Allgaier won over Edwards - it would have been fun if Bayne had pulled it off as the dark horse too.
ReplyDeleteGlad to be here with all of you. See you all tomorrow.
Marty blew that. "Who's gonna cross the finish line first? Is it going to be Bayne?" 5 seconds after they had crossed the finish line.
ReplyDeleteThey seemed to believe that the laped car that was running past was Trevor Bayne?
ReplyDeleteMarty did not know where the finish line was.
ReplyDeleteAnd I thought Marty's Indy 500 call was bad, wow.
ReplyDeleteThe booth was totally clueless at the finish. Rule #1 should be "know where the finish line is". It's not rocket science.
ReplyDeleteLOL, is that what the problem was? The booth didn't know where the start finish line was? Wow, how poor is that?
ReplyDeleteWhere's Gibbs from NCIS? Marty deserves a headslap for that.
He didn't even know he was being an idiot.
If that is what ESPN is going to bring for Cup, it might not be worth hanging around.
ReplyDeleteI've backed up the picture 8 times looking for the finish line and ESPN did not show it ... ggggrrrrrr
ReplyDeleteWOW what a finish!
ReplyDeleteNo ifs ands or buts, ESPN HAS to put AB in the booth.
ReplyDeleteI thought it was a good broadcast ... minus the final lap. Marty was confused, director was confused, camera was clearly confused following a lap car across the line.
ReplyDeletebrad just said it..they thought the car coming around the corner was trevor, it was just a lapped car..they forgot that trevor was 6 seconds behind the leaders
ReplyDeletethey blew the ending completely
I think they thought the lapped car was Trevor Bayne. He wasn't even in the picture, though.
ReplyDeleteHave a good night folks, see you tomorrow for the final NASCAR on FOX race of the season.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know where the finish line was but then again, I'm only a viewer, the "experts" should have known!
ReplyDeleteJD, boy you are so right about that. If the booth is going to be that unprepared for the cup coverage, I will watch the highlights not entire races when ESPN takes over.
ReplyDeleteNo check of the points standings, no full field run down, minimal interviews. Typical ESPN.
ReplyDeleteWell now I know why I don't watch SC - ever.
ReplyDeleteWow these SportsCenter guys are embarassing.
ReplyDeleteSports center even had the lapped down car as Trevor.
ReplyDeleteDoes Espn care - No.
Awful awful awful.....
ReplyDeleteSo Marty forgets where the finish line is, SportsCenter's NASCAR review was embarassing, and Jayski reports: "#12-Justin Allgaier won the STP 300"
ReplyDeleteWTF is wrong with this group tonight?
Should mention that the ARCA from Chicago wasn't able to go as scheduled earlier on because of the rain. ARCA was going to televise it on delay here in a few minutes (11pm Eastern). But now they should be able to show it live....if someone is up for some late night racing from Chicagoland. lol
ReplyDeleteThanks MC for update on ARCo like Kenny & Bob Dilner! Where's Randy?
ReplyDeleteI tuned in with less than 20 laps to go. The broadcast did very well to tell me about the fuel mileage situation, but that finish. Marty Reid had no idea where Trevor Bayne was. I didn't notice the finish-line debacle, but he shouldn't be confusing a lapped car with Bayne's.
ReplyDeleteWe should start a petition to get Marty out of the booth.
Marty Reid is TERRIBLE!
ReplyDeleteDidnt hear about Marty's mishap till long after the race ended. I listened to MRN's B team cover this race. They didnt screw up the call. They knew what was going on. The thing about MR is that he is terrible at pxp. He is an embarrasment to Nascar racing. Half the time he dont even know what track were at. Youd think somewhere in his life someone would have told him he's just not cut out to be a broadcaster. How anyone with such a small amount of talent can get this far is beyond me, but then again Kevin Conway won rookie of the year last year.
ReplyDeleteI know Im beatin a dead horse, but everyone complained about Jerry Punch till they were blue in the face and finally one day espn made a change. Im still holding out hope.
I guess this group didn't learn anything from their indy 500 last lap debacle. Last night's finish was flat out embarrassing. from what I saw marty R wanted to give the win to trevor bayne so badly. He didn't even realize the guy he called trevor bayne was a lapped car. WHAT IS GOING ON WITH ESPN? how come viewers at home know more then the announcers who are at the track. that lapped car didn't even look like trevor bayne's car. WTH is going on at ESPN?
ReplyDeleteSportsCenter was even more embarrassing ... I love how everything is smug and funny for NASCAR hilights ... those two are ding bats!
I was at Chicagolast night. If there were 30kin the stands id be surprised. The best races weve had here were the IRL. Iknow how TV must of played it last night but after the rain it was nice just to hear em run. This trackis 10 years old and is as single grooved as it was the first year. Well at least they let us bringin our own beer this year.
ReplyDelete
