Happy Fourth Of July!

This holiday celebrates America's independence from Great Britain, which was granted in 1776. The day is reserved for patriotic themed outings that revolve around family.

On that note, NASCAR fan favorite Martina McBride will be joining the Boston Pops orchestra on CBS at 10PM Eastern Time for a live concert with music and plenty of fireworks.

Have a safe and happy holiday, TDP will return to discuss NASCAR TV and media topics on Tuesday. You can follow us, as well as the top drivers and teams, on Twitter at http://twitter.com/thedalyplanet.

Today is the day that we celebrate the issuance of that great document proclaiming our independence from Great Britain.

I wonder if we will ever be able to celebrate our independence from bad television coverage of NASCAR?

Mr Daly at least keeps us informed of what all is happening sort of like Paul Revere...

The Waltrips are coming, the Waltrips are coming!

What KoHoSo said was very witty. I'm a member of our local Lion's Club. For at least ten years now, I've worked with the local merchants in a program where I hang the American flag on their stores/shops for the major Holidays. Rain or shine, for me, one of the most enjoyable Holidays for me to do what I do is the 4th of July. Stay safe....and watch out for those dreaded Waltrips!!!

Was it only by chance that our Founding Fathers chose July rather than January to declare a new country? It's the best time of the year. Please thank our military forces for all we enjoy.
