Oh my, no one here. Ok, I'll ask why was the truck race started way too early?

it seemed like a strange time to start the race but there aren't many people there. Maybe they are all stuck in tracking getting into the track.

Krista Voda with a French accent???

Ah well, I'm with Kenny Wallace...rawr, rawr!!

what do you mean early? According to TV guide the race was set to start right after NCTS setup at 5:30. I believe it started right around that time.

Usually the race starts around 8pm EST. Even the announcers said it was earlier than normal.

Well I think it's a completely strange time to start a race. It should have been around 1 or 2 not 4:30 (my time). One of my favorites is already out too.

A 5:30pm start time is a little odd but from what I gather it can get quite hot in St. Louis in the summer months. Hence the later start time. My only guess as to why they aren't running it at night is because it cannot overlap the Busch race tonight from Cali.......On another note, they should have kept Skinner locked in the porta-potty a little longer.......

Yes, they could have given all the others a couple of laps head start then let Skinner out of the Port a potty. And I agree I don't think Krista should have been trying a French accent either. Well I forgot about the outside temperature in St. Louis in the summer. They should have just scheduled it on a different day than the Busch race.

It started as planned and I know it is usually a night race...not sure why different.

With holiday weekend, maybe give folks their night after the race?

Who knows...truck races don't seem well attended many times. :(

Fun to see Schrader start the race.

:)

the trucks could not race at night yesterday due to an arca race, not today due to busch race and not tomorrow due to cup.

Hey Guys,

NASCAR wanted to make sure the Truck race was over, even with a slight rain delay, before the ESPN Busch Series race hit the air tonight at 9:30PM Eastern Daylight Time.

Thanks for the info, kinda thought that was the deal. But us old folks who work on Sundays have to get to bed at a not so late hour, so the DVR will be working to get the Busch race for me. Plus trying to check in on Tennessee Football! Am I allowed to say that word...football

Absolutely, we have a team called the Florida Gators down here. I understand they are pretty good.

I'm putting the Busch race on the DVR and heading out with my GF.

The story of this Truck race so far is attrition. Not a good day for tires and motors at Gateway, maybe NASCAR should have let them shift.

they should have used a split screen during the green flag interview with skinner.

I really like Ray's coverage of Skinner's problems. He had inside info for the TV audience and had Skinner talk about it. Very good reporting. Good job, Ray!!

On second thought, maybe Skinner should have offered to stay in the porta-potty a little longer. At least we have a championship fight on our hands!!!

For those of you looking to see the start of the Busch race, good luck. All college football games are running long due to changes in the timing rules. Forget any pre-race coverage, we'll be lucky to see the green flag.

I Agree. Some of these games are almost 25 min past the end of their TV time slot.

As for the truck race, I like the coverage so far.

Just what we don't need football running late and missing the Busch race start. Kind of remember the race where ESPN changed channels because of a tennis match.

thanks for the heads up on the late Busch race potential due to football.

>:-{

Late race how it is.

CONGRATS JOHNNY B!!

Wonder how Wallace and Schrader finished...tough to tell with caution coming out so late.

One has to think that NASCAR is being shuffled even further down the ESPN totem pole now that football season is upon us. Heck, even I have trouble focusing on the now 8 month old season once the pigskin starts being tossed.

Hey everybody, don't bet on the Busch race even being on ESPN Classic tonight. They have live Basketball....

How about ESPN NEWS??

Sheesh...couldn't they blow off their repetitive news for a race?

They took over three fricking stations for that horrible "big freak star" Vick's guilty plea.

&^%$#@!

The game on ESPN2 is already in halftime. I think it just might end before the green flag.

what about the millions of people that don't have ESPN news?

Sophia said...

yea I know about the access to ESPN NEWS.

NOW T Warner had UPGRADED ESPN CLASSIC to the same stinking tier.

I THANKFULLY have a friend that gifts me $$ towards digital cable for my birthday as it's NOT in my budget but I LOVE NASCAR and do not venture far from the house due to medical issues.

But 3 of the tv's in the house are normal cable and my room and the LR digital. So now, if they show stuff on ESPN CLASSIC or NEWS, we must stay in certain rooms and if I need to tape the show due to company or something, it's a hassle trying to figure out where to tape.

This ESPN conglomerate of 'nascar channel roulette' should've been THOUGHT ABOUT IN ADVANCE of NASCAR's deal.

All of you are MUCH more sports savvy than I and as you all point out the traffic problems of too many live things on ESPN, I am flummoxed at how we are supposed to watch the race.

Provided we can find it.

It's also a damn shame TW YANKED ESPN CLASSIC off of normal cable as of Aug. 28th.

Plus to have satellite in each room of this house tv's would cost us a fortune with a huge fee PER satellite box. With normal cable you can have as many rooms as you want for one price.

The digital I had put in 18 months ago is a HUGE LUXURY for me and I am most GRATEFUL for an old friend to provide this gift.

I know many families can't justify the digital cost (and neither could this house!!) and frankly it stinks. Why does everything have to be taken away and upgraded. Boy if ONLY they would invent "cable stations ala carte!"

While I realize some folks did not have FX on their systems, all this ESPN roulette is going to tests the patience of Job.

*sigh*
