Live Blogging Nationwide Series on ESPN

Here we go with the Nationwide Series from the Bristol Motor Speedway.

Allen Bestwick starts the show with Ray Evernham, Rusty Wallace and Brad Daugherty alongside in the Infield Pit Studio. Tim Brewer will be in the Tech Garage.

Marty Reid will call the race with Dale Jarrett and Andy Petree. Jamie Little, Vince Welch, Dave Burns and Jerry Punch are on pit road.

This is a fast-paced race that often comes down to the Sprint Cup Series drivers in the field vs. one or two of the best Nationwide Series regulars.

This post will serve to host your comments on the Nationwide Series from BMS. To add your TV-related comment, just click on the comments button below. This is a family-friendy website, please keep that in mind when posting.

Another commercial!?!? ESPN needs a lead lap rundown ASAP.

Daly Planet Editor said...

Man, this is rough with this break right now.

DexterMorgan said...

Well the final 15 laps of this race should take 30 mins, of course with the obligatory 3 GWC's.

marty better pull his belts tight! gonna be nuts.

c'mon bowyer

I am on my knees praying for anyone to win but Kyle.

DexterMorgan said...

nice mention of Willy Allen. ESPN rarely gives a crap about the Nationwide regulars.

glenc1 said...

blech....this is killing the NW series more than anything.

Daly Planet Editor said...

So who did Kyle flip off? The crowd?

GinaV24 said...

Ugh, well I'm done -- no post race for me.

Gag me with a spoon = busch winning another one

Nice to sit and watch with all of you.

Have a nice Saturday and see you all tomorrow night.

Vicky D said...

Well I guess I could win if I would spin the other guys in the race!

Commercials are more important then a field run down.

GinaV24 said...

probably, JD. that's Vyle Kyle -- all class.

Sally said...

Sounds like lots of boos for KB...again.

Nice shot at the finish line. Could have used a different winner. Shrub can win in the lower series...I think the fans get it by now. Would have loved to see Leffler in victory lane.

RvNGrammy said...

It is just wrong that NASCAR let Kyle win tonight. It plain sucks that they let him get away with retaliation and BraKes and eddiehaskell are on probation for similar behavior.

DexterMorgan said...

Grammy whose your favorite dare I ask?

Daly Planet Editor said...

From jim_utter Wow Kyle gets out of his car and after hearing books raises hands like he is wiping tears from his eyes

Daly Planet Editor said...

oops....hearing boos

I guess Kyle Busch is the Jimmy Johnson of the Nationwide Series.

The hatred of Kyle Busch is much like the hatred of Dale Earnhardt at about this stage of his career. He was beating, banging and winning raceas over fan favorites of the time. He drove "dirty" according to the angry fans.

DexterMorgan said...

Its a darn shame that Kyle and Jr isnt winning in the cup series. It would be an epic feud that would rejuvenate this sport.

Unfourtunately Kyle is holding up his end of the bargain, the other just likes to yell at his crew cheif

Vicky D said...

Booh city!

Busch is a puke. He gets loose off the corner and then claims Brad K. dumped him? Typical Busch denial.

Darcie said...

"So I dumped him". Isn't that what got Carl into trouble for purposely putting guys into the fence?

Typical Kyle, jerk city.

Someday this series will no longer be the Cup playground.

Sally said...

I don't recall Big E being quite as petulant as Kyle Busch, however. And I think Brad showed a lot of class in his interview. something Kyle has yet to learn. If you can learn class, of course.

OSBORNK said...

I'm afraid if the Nationwide is not the Cup drivers playground, the series won't survive.

Dale Jarrett continues to shove the NASCAR agenda. Did ESPN & NASCAR have a double secret meeting to enforce happy talk? I never remember Dale like this.

Darcie said...

Jr shaved !!! Now, if Jr can do such a good job with POPS on the box, why don't they throw some money at Eury Sr to come back to Cup and chief for Jr?

Stick With The BIff said...

osbornk...you might be right, but personally I wasn't a fan of Big E for that reason. There were a lot of fans who felt the same way. He was a human being....not all of us liked how he did things. Doesn't make it right/wrong. Just what you like.

But personally, I think this Bristol was great racing, despite the annoying winner.

Daly Planet Editor said...

They replayed Kyle wiping away his fake tears because the crowd was booing him. That was awesome TV!

OSBORNK - Much of the media seems to forget pre-2004 when there were much less Buschwackers in the series and more independent efforts. Plenty of people still came.

OSBORNK said...

Stick--I was never a fan of Sr. either because of the way he raced. The driver that was feared because they knew payback was certain was Bill Elliott. He never had the reputation but the drivers knew who to leave alone.

I thought tonight's race was the best race since the track was redone regardless of who won.

Sally said...

It was more like the 'old' Bristol than usual. I guess having all those Cup drivers who don't really give a ....makes things more exciting. Thank goodness they aren't going to put a crapshoot in this series.

OSBORNK said...

Bushseries61--I was at the spring Bristol JV race before 2004 and there weren't that many people. It just took a few minutes to get out of the parking lot. They onlyh allowed us in part of the stands so it would look like there were more people. It was the feeder series back then but now they let the kids run in the big leagues without paying their dues

Daly Planet Editor said...

Well, now we have some ratings potential for Saturday night!

Sally said...

I just wonder, if Brad K decides to retaliate against Carl or Kyle, expecially this close to the chase, if Nascar will ignore it? If it's OK for them to dump him, and admit it, will it be reciprocal?

Daly Planet Editor said...

Sally, I bet he waits until another NNS race if needed. Won't spill over to Cup IMHO.

Anonymous said...

Does Rusty listen to anyone?

glenc1 said...

OsbornK...Bill was exactly the guy I was thinking of. He was just smart & subtle. There was a lot of stuff that went on in those days..........

Sally said...

You're probably right, JD...but it would somehow satisfy me in a way.

Lisa Hogan said...

Good to see Leffler get an interview. I know they were still interviewing, don't know how many other NW regulars got on TV.

Bestwick was sure missed tonight. He usually has to do his job and Reids all from the infield studio. Tomorrow night will be another booth mess.

Dr. Jerry always does a great job in the pits. Good interviews with Sadler and Jr. The drivers are relaxed around the Doc. :)

Vicky D said...

Buschseries61 - Rusty only likes to hear himself talk, I I I I I I you get the picture!

No matter who won, it wasn't a boring race. Have hopes for tomorrow's race.

I thought ESPN did good....except for a few poor in-car cam choices.

(Do they have to get a certain number of in-car shots for commercial agreements? Doesn't work for me as I'm too busy screaming for a good view to notice which sponsors they're promoting.)

Best wishes for AB.
